\nBut for one noble beast
\nThe distinction of the pachyderm
\nIs noble if not least
\nClearly a splendid ancestry
\nWhere gentility did reign
\nA truly high caste bloodstock
\nWith everything to gain<\/p>\n

\nUnspoilt forest and lovely lakes
\nIn many way a star
\nThis unprotesting unassuming
\nCreature seemed forlorn
\nClearly used as target practice
\nRiddled and sadly torn<\/p>\n
Blinded in a moment
\nA humbleness endowed
\nMust have been in agony
\nAs the bullets showered
\nThe shamelessness behind the guns
\nThe arrogance of man
\nSuch hostility of reason
\nWhy ? just because they can<\/p>\n
Show the world their loathing
\nTheir repugnance for a soul
\nWho wanders freely in the bush
\nUnder no mans control
\nIs that their spent abhorrence
\nAnd why they felt inclined
\nTo antagonize and torture
\nAnything they find<\/p>\n
A smouldering resentment
\nFor a noble fellow who
\nIsnt provoked in any way
\nDespite his pain he holds true
\nTheir viciousness and rancour
\nTheir abuse of one so fine
\nLeaving him to fester
\nWhat a dreadful sign<\/p>\n
Of evil hearted humans
\nWith no remorse at all
\nWho lack all understanding
\nAnd cannot hope to call
\nOn any sort of decency
\nFor their heartlessness is clear
\nThis poor old soul must wander on
\nAnd face more of the fear<\/p>\n
Rescued and sent off to
\nHOrowpathana a dretention centre there
\nFor a lengthy bout of TLC
\nSome good will and some care
\nSome love some really good green food
\nSome empathy and where
\nSome healing needs to be carried out
\nAnd some love they need to share<\/p>\n
Nobility is one thing
\nBut agony and pain
\nAnd being left alone each day
\nIts one enormous strain
\nOn any heart on any soul
\nAnd blinded too, its dreams
\nBroken on that fated day
\nWhich encouraged inner screams<\/p>\n
They are often felt by the lonely
\nBy the broken and the pain
\nLimping around the forest
\nIt is hard to stay sane
\nBut seeing some generosity
\nSome gentleness as well
\nComing into a heavenly place
\nAfter such a time in Hell<\/p>\n
Whoever committed this evil
\nThe callousness and the grief
\nThe ferocity and barbarity
\nIt is beyond belief
\nHow do they breathe the shared air
\nWith their viperous nasty mind
\nOne hopes the thunder and karmic debt
\nWill search out and will find<\/p>\n
Them in a parlous avenue
\nBroken and feeling low
\nReminding them of their vile abuse
\nAnd waiting while they grow
\nSicker from the memory
\nThe scoundrels that they be
\nUnmoved dry eyed and sadistic
