Shapelines in proportion
\nOf the most noble descent
\nAn unbroken line and lineage
\nThat must be heaven sent
\nSpell binding is their magick
\nWatched where ere they go
\nBreathtaking and impressive
\nAnd forever in the flow<\/p>\n
Joyful and triumphant
\nWith immense regard
\nReally gentle giants
\nPrivileged and starred
\nIn every ocean drama
\nToday the plastics war
\nIceland Norway and Japan
\nCountries to abhor<\/p>\n
Their energy is uppermost
\nThey influence us all
\nStimulate the phyto plankton
\nSo carbon levels fall
\nThey are graceful and respectful
\nOf the shallows and the deep
\nThey stablise the food chain
\nAnd help us all to reap<\/p>\n
They have enormous staying power
\nTheir singlemindedness
\nDogged and enduring
\nAnd who could want for less
\nPoetry in motion
\nAn elegy of light
\nA troubadour that travels far
\nMaking music through the night<\/p>\n
Stately and unlaboured
\nTheir fervour says it all
\nAn utterance as magickal
\nListen as they call
\nOperatic aria’s
\nHeard from miles away
\nPuccini would have flipped his lid
\nHearing what they say<\/p>\n
They liberate our minds eye
\nA tutelage of old
\nAssertive to the very end
\nTrenchant so I’m told
\nAn amazing imagination
\nAnd creativity
\nBut the plastic plot the are losing
\nAnd dying painfully<\/p>\n
The forewarning of research ships
\nJapan’s ships of dread
\nDespite the worlds cessation
\nOf whales so many dead
\nWhales clog up the freezer space
\nIn godowns near and far
\nAs fewer people choose to eat
\nApparently under par<\/p>\n
The lunacy of hunting
\nA cretinism state
\nWe are packed with mercury
\nIts a pretty nasty trait
\nLeading to dementia
\nAnd an unsound mind.
\nThe Japanese pay dearly
\nFor their arrogance I find<\/p>\n
ICeland is clearlyr at it
\nIts ships go boldly on
\nHunting for us minke whales
\nAnd blues out there upon
\nThe oceans to sell to Japan
\nAnd when we all are gone<\/p>\n
Its too late to cry
\nIts too late to sigh
\nThe height of absurdity
\nThe antics of the numskull
\nThat is who they be
\nRisking the tourist industry
\nThe whale watching brigade
\nJust to kiss the japanese aree
