Yesterday at Tinker Lane
\nThe warriors on show
\nProtecting land and air and water
\nAs some of you may know
\nUp against the corporations
\nWho have infiltrated and
\nAre set to cause disruption
\nRight across our land<\/p>\n
The day began with a lock on
\nIts a perilous affair
\nArms locked into tubes
\nFeeling vulnerable there
\nThe police ofcourse and the others
\nUsing chisels and god knows what
\nClipped the ladies head i heard
\nA lack of care she got<\/p>\n
Parked up in front of the main gates
\nThat caused them some delay
\nA tripod surfer at the top
\nHelped out made them pay
\nMore time elapsed the police
\nAgain did make a pigs ear
\nOf getting this chap down
\nBy stomping up the fear<\/p>\n
When the Marriots rig appeared
\nThey asked if they might try
\nAnd slow walk it which was turned down
\nSo a surfer lady high
\nOn courage and commitment
\nDespite the many cops
\nLeapt upon the rig
\nPulling out all the stops<\/p>\n
She bathed there in the sunshine
\nDespite the coppers who
\nTried to hand her a harness
\nClearly clueless to
\nThe honourable intention
\nPrincipled and high
\nEquitable and unchanging
\nWhich of course was why<\/p>\n
More delay the truck
\nBlocked the road for a goodly time
\nA constancy of caring
\nIt had been a splendid climb
\nLater as three trucks appeared
\nTo go into the site
\nAnother surfer made his mark
\nHis chivalry in spite
\nOf all the cops around there
\nAnd so yes more delay
\nThis filthy dirty industry
\nHas to be made to pay
\nIt creates in people
\nSo much fear
\nOf what has gone before
\nThe threats to air and water
\nAnd a whole lot more<\/p>\n
Destruction of our habitat
\nNoise issues all the day
\nChemicals used in fracking
\nUndeclared they cant allay
\nThe fear the local people have
\nFor these hydrocarbon yobs
\nWe have seen them all around the world
\nThe blow outs how it robs<\/p>\n
People of their land their health
\nThe ignorance and pain
\nNegative equity on their homes
\nThere is nothing to gain
\nThey might throw money
\nAt us
\nBut the risks are much too high
\nFracking should be banned
\nWorldwide to say otherwise is a lie<\/p>\n
And Seismic activity
\nIs something to pursue
\nProfessor Stiles has made the point
\nOn old coal seams it wont do
\nRisk to all and sundry
\nAnd the government doesnt care
\nThey bash on with aggression
\nWhich clearly isnt fair<\/p>\n
And so there is resentment
\nTo I gas and the rest
\nINEOS And Cuadrilla
\nWho feel that they are blessed
\nWith the destruction of our way of life
\nAnd the environment out there
\nAnd with no safety plans in place
\nOf course so much despair<\/p>\n
We have seen the darkly ravages
\nIn Australia and the US
\nVast tracts of land destroyed
\nAnd little has been addressed
\nOnce they get their foothold
\nEstablished then of course
\nThey carry on regardless
\nAnd do it with great force<\/p>\n
The angels the protectors
\nAre establishing a place
\nFending off the coppers
\nAnd some are a disgrace
\nAggressive almost military
\nManhandling our souls
\nWho give their time and efforts
\nAgainst these strict controls<\/p>\n
Fracking is seriously lacking
\nAny favour and today
\nWe dont need dirty energy
\nAnd why should we then pay
\nVast reserves of water
\nNeeded for every frack
\nMillions of potable gallons
\nIts integrity they lack<\/p>\n
The air with increasing methane
\nThe frack water goes where
\nInto rivers canals and seas
\nThey just don’t even care
\nIts always down to money
\nTo profit for the few
\nAnd all these trucks
\nNow ruining our roads
\nPaid for by me and you<\/p>\n
we must all step up and save our souls
\nFrom their invasive wrath
\nWe bave our codes of honour
\nWe walk the honest path
\nWe Remain conscientious
\nPure minded as before
\nWhat we do is for our children
\nAnd who could ask for more<\/p>\n
Please all of you
\nDo your own research
\nRealise that they
\nThe energy corporations
\nTheir contempt is here to stay
\nWe have no forms of insurance
\nThey will always indemnify
\nProtected by the small print
\nWhich is really why<\/p>\n
Our land is green and pleasant
\nAnd What we need today
\nIs not great sprawling gas fields
\nAnd being made to pay
\nWith some of our beautiful farmland
\nThe national trust land too
\nPinpointed for destruction
