The Emu is a star out in the bush
\nUnder the sun
\nWith all its originality
\nA Soft feathered flightless
\nRacer and boy can this bird run
\nA trendsetter in many ways
\nMajestic through and through
\nAn eminence of character
\nIts integrity on view<\/p>\n
It has a state of order
\nAnd regularity
\nOnly found in Australia
\nA bird that wanders free
\nI question the mentality
\nOf the government who felt
\nThe need to machine gun
\nEmu’s
\nThat was a card they dealt<\/p>\n
With very little commonsense
\nAn icon that should be
\nRespected for its influence
\nAnd it first class quality
\nYet once again wheat farming
\nWas blamed
\nAnd it Twas said that they ate
\nThe grains and therefore had to die
\nTheir fate again was set<\/p>\n
Man each generation
\nApparently doesnt learn
\nThe gifted wondrous wild life
\nAre something to discern
\nSomething to be cared for not murdered
\nIn cold blood
\nShot to death by shooters
\nIn what became a flood<\/p>\n
Of lead again no real thought
\nOf harmony abroad
\nEnvironmental pollutants
\nWere never a reward
\nFor innocence and wildness
\nThat might have ambled by
\nThat might have feasted on their corpses
\nAnd would sadly later die<\/p>\n
They are parental good guys
\nThe family is their thing
\nThe male does incubate the chick
\nFor eight weeks he will bring
\nHis expertise and caring
\nBring it into play
\nA kindly thoughtful creature
\nWho the aborigines pay<\/p>\n
Respects to in their mythology
\nMuch like the kangaroo
\nThey possess a heavenly aura
\nA stablity thats true
\nA survivability
\nAnd they just know what to do
\nSix foot two in height some of them
\nAnd charismatic too<\/p>\n
And they contribute to the environment
\nIts what the gifted do
\nThey are nomads and none happier
\nThan wandering around
\nThey drink water infrequently
\nBut copiuously when found
\nPlants and insects chiefly
\nThe irder of their day
\nReflective and contemplative
\nAnd inquisituve they say<\/p>\n
I wish that we would realise
\nAnd respect the aboriginie
\nUnderstand their profound thought
\nAnd contemplate their
\nPhilosophy
\nTued in with the Mother
\nThe water and the fire
\nThe air and all the animals
\nThat happen to be there<\/p>\n
It is a mental process
\nA Cerebration where
\nInstinctive knowledge
\nDoes abound
\nAnd is accumulated there
