\nHumpback whales
\nIts not as easy
\nAnd there are some fails
\nClearly the whales really
\nHave to be resting to photograph
\nThem easily.<\/p>\n
An ethic exists no scuba allowed
\nIts noisy and upsetting
\nAnd altogether loud
\nFree diving is quieter
\nNo bubbles at all
\nJust quietly observing
\nKind of in free fall<\/p>\n
What we found out
\nFrom this film
\nIs divers do need
\nTo be patient
\nFor days and days
\nto succeed
\nOne sees the blue planet
\nBut the realisation
\nOf extensive filming
\nNeeds good location<\/p>\n
The momentous humpback
\nA sea island soul
\nIs so unpredictable
\nFor that control
\nThe weather must be
\njust so right
\nAnd the waves
\nNot really too rough
\nFree diving
\nSaves<\/p>\n
Whales are always in motion
\nAnd so to observe
\nTheir habitat with them
\nDoes take some nerve
\nFor clearness and clarity
\nEye catchingly
\nAnd Better pictures
\nYou just have to be
\nclose
\nAnd be careful
\nAnd Perceived to be
\nGentle by the mother
\nWho is wonderfully
\nVery protective of her calf
\nAnd therefore
\nFilming and learning
\nDoes take so much more<\/p>\n
Time than I thought
\nThese great beasts are quite shy
\nOne needs to get close
\nTo identify
\nFrom the tail from the pleats
\nAnd from the dorsal fin
\nAnd take pictures of them
\nAnd then you begin<\/p>\n
To record them and know them
\nAnd find out
\nwhere they go
\nAt thirty tons
\nAnd, still they grow
\nAmazingly buoyant
\nChangeless are they
\nMeandering oceans
\nAll seeing each day<\/p>\n
Warm hearted beings
\nWith much empathy
\nA sound disposition
\nFraternal and free
\nSpirited souls
\nFavouring play
\nOverflowing with kindness
\nGood natured I’d say
\nTender and pitiful
\nBountiful too
\nSoft hearted and tender
\nAs they do what they do<\/p>\n
