\nThe backbone and the marrow and the core
\nIs adequately

\nGreat forests lakes and rivers
\nAnd wild life good and free<\/p>\n
Muritz national Park
\nA vast arena of great light
\nEvery eventuality
\nThe snow clouds good and white
\nPaper thin the ice sheets
\nAs the white tailed eagles come
\nTheir dappled plumage feathery
\nIn the winter sun
\nSome what of a dilemma
\nFor the youngsters
\nBy the side
\nThey can see fish frozen there
\nThat is not denied
\nEven with their great talons
\nThey cant get to them though they
\nAre inquisitive and frustrated
\nIn the cold light of the day<\/p>\n
Its pertinent to watch them
\nTheres a relevance we see
\nYouth lacks the experience
\nOf what its like to be
\nIgnorant of the circumstances
\nSquabbling as they are
\nAnd really getting no where fast
\nBut then we see a star<\/p>\n
Ofcourse a timid otter
\nWorking on his own

\nBiting through the bone

\nJust to keep him going
\nBut he gets it anyway
\nUnderwater diving lithe and deft is he
\nCurling through the shallows
\nBy the banks where fish may be
\nHe is somewhat of a phantom
\nThe way that he does show
\nHe is here is when he takes to land
\nTo eat and then we know<\/p>\n
With the wriggling victim
\nHe can hold it and can gnaw
\nOn the land no air for fishes
\nDo otters then are sure
\nOf a much more comfortable session
\nIngesting fish with ease
\nIts a more of a guarantee
\nAnd not such a tease<\/p>\n
Cranes there are several thousand
\nHere
\nThey walk on stilts each day
\nAnd dont they make a racket
\nBeaks pushed high a way
\nOf trying to please the ladies
\nRed top knots on their brow
\nThey really are rough callers
\nOne really wonders how<\/p>\n
Such a great elongated bird
\nCan get up in the sky
\nAerodynamically it doesnt appear
\nTo be perfect but on high
\nThey make a proper picture
\nTheir symmetry is good
\nStrangely very alien.
\nBut clearly undersood<\/p>\n
Behold ancient Beech Forests
\nMajestically empowered
\n25 metres up a Pine
\nAn ospreys nest endowed
\nAnd needing a fresh make over
\nAnd one man knows just how
\nTo get ip there and do that
\nThat really is his vow
\nHaving been born around here
\nHe wants the birds of prey
\nTo flourish in the forest
\nForever and a day<\/p>\n
In a month or so
\nThe Ospreys will return from Africa where
\nThey have been on holiday
\nAnd need ofcourse to share
\nAnother brand new family
\nAnd the nest will have to be
\nPrepared for lots of baby chicks
\nLifes true variety<\/p>\n
The Ospreys they are back
\nMagnificent birds of prey They be
\nInstinctively knowledgable
\nThe pre-amble certainly
\nAll the new adjustments
\nA deep hollow where
\nThe chicks can be kept warm
\nAnd fed and Get all the care<\/p>\n
190 couples in the forests around here
\nClearly the right environment
\nConservation clear
\nThe bare ground warms to fresh shoots
\nAnd sweet flowers nodding fast
\nLiverleaf and wind flowers
\nThe magic wand was cast
\nCarpets of bold whites and blues
\nGifts infact to Spring
\nThe suns rays paint a picture
\nWith all the petalled bling<\/p>\n
Back down in the water
\nA common newt it be
\nAbout to change its colour
\nA lady it needs to see
\nMales are quite the show offs
\nIts what life’s about
\nSpring has sprung
\nAnd all among the creatures
\nThe big shout<\/p>\n
Is on its mating fever
\nOn land now we can see
\nThe Gotland Sheep big horns
\nAnd lots of furry skin that be
\nProtecting them over winter
\nThese sheep stay outside they
\nAre really very hardy
\nHaving their babies right away<\/p>\n
The sheep their rumination
\nKeeps the grasses low
\nThat allows the magic the orchid
\nShowers to grow
\nThe juniper is thorny
\nThats another treat
\nThat mother puts before us
\nThe picture thus complete<\/p>\n
Then we see the grass snakes
\nAll bundles of joy
\nStretching out and pursuing
\nLadies to annoy
\nGathering on the dry banks
\nThey all love the sun
\nAnd when they meet the females
\nRhythmically flick that done<\/p>\n
Back down in the water
\nToad tadpoles hit the scene
\nBouncing in the shallows
\nTorpedo’s that have been
\nEyed by dragon fly nymphs
\nWith their mysterious lip
\nReady to catch and swallow them
\nAnd probably let flip<\/p>\n
The Ospreys are now hunting
\nTheir chicks are growing fast
\nThe male must keep on catching fish
\nThe drama he has cast
\nAnd down below we notice
\nThe dragon fly is there
\nPumping air into her body
\nAnd we are aware
\nSuch a transformation is happening
\nAs she must dry and watch her fine wings
\nFlap so she will be
\nAirborne with a coat of many colours
\nThankfully
\nBeautiful and classical
\nAnd clearly flying free<\/p>\n
These lakes are full of enchantment
\nLife is everywhere
\nGreat magic from the wizards
\nAnd so hard to compare
\nAll we see through all the seasons
\nEver changing we
\nSee myriads of miracles
\nThat change miraculously
\nThe wholeness the integrity
\nAn all embracing view
