\nThe outback saw his stories
\nThe swagman and his lot
\nTook the name of Banjo
\nFrom a horse
\nA horse he’d got
\nHis favourite horse in all the land
\nOf Australia of course
\nA poet and a story teller
\nWho assumed a force<\/p>\n
Died at the age of 76
\nIn Sydney I hear
\nBut wrote some lovely stories
\nLet me talk of one right here
\nProbably the most famous
\nWaltzing matilda he
\nTalked about a labourer
\nWho sat by a coolabah tree
\nThats a eucalyptus tree
\nUsing aboriginie
\nWaited till his billy boiled
\nA jumbuk in his tucker bag
\nThats a sheep he must of stolen
\nSitting by an ox bow lake
\nHe was assaulted by some troopers
\nBound to arrest him and to take
\nBut he decided he was going
\nTo leap into the billabong
\nSo anyone a passing after
\nMight hear his ghost
\nSing out his song<\/p>\n
Waltzing Matilda sort of wandering
\nAimlessly
\nswag on his back
\nHoping Work to find
\nMatilda was the tool roll
\nA swag a thick blue blanket
\nAnd now ofcourse this famous song
\nIt just blows our mind<\/p>\n
