Single use plastic is in so many ways
\nWasteful its joining the oil based malaise
\nOf high tech production and a low tech idea
\nOf creating a product of exhaustion and fear
\nIt dismantles good sense and leaves judgement behind
\nThe time and the energy is underlined
\nPosterity suffers heritage does too
\nAnd the ramifications that sadly ensue<\/p>\n
Used once and disposed of a barren idea
\nThat adds to our waste problems
\nThat much is clear
\nExhausting potential a future sterile
\nImpassive behaviour hard to reconcile
\nSingle use plastic contributes to
\nA costly footprint thats then hard to woo
\nSupport in the long term
\nWhere it all goes awry
\nOverturning the positive
\nTo testify<\/p>\n
It adds to the problem
\nDoing so by design
\nIts amorphous and structureless
\nA chaotic line
\nIndistinct and nondescript
\nMalformed lets say
\nAn occlusion of chaos
\nThats making us pay<\/p>\n
Environments suffer
\nThe wild souls do too
\nA regurgitation of something untrue
\nFalling short in so many ways
\nAnd plunging into
\nAn abyss of sorts
\nSomething unreal
\nA life threatening notion
\nThat can now reveal<\/p>\n
An expectation
\nA bodily need
\nA food source that tragically
\nAll should take heed
\nOf its actual perception
\nAn image perhaps
\nThat comes with a ghoulishness
\nThat just entraps<\/p>\n
It may be in a guise
\nOf a jellyfish and
\nHas an amazing likeness
\nBut to understand
\nIts a non food a plastic
\nA harmful desire
\nNot a ghost of a chance
\nBewilderingly dire<\/p>\n
Cetaceans are suffering
\nAs we can see
\nBeaching themselves
\nFull of uncertainty
\nPolymers fibres
\nFlimsy and wrong
\nPerverting all reason
\nOf where they belong<\/p>\n
Misinterpretation
\nA one track mind
\nResembling food
\nBut proving how blind
\nSome are in the water
\nIngesting can be
\nVery injurious
\nSuch naivete<\/p>\n
Its all unfamiliar
\nUnfathomed untried
\nAnd many great beasts
\nHave already died
\nSingle use plastic
\nA real falsity
\nMistaken belief
\nAnd
