{"id":36390,"date":"2018-04-09T09:30:17","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T09:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=36390"},"modified":"2018-04-09T09:41:48","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T09:41:48","slug":"how-the-indigenous-respect-animals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2018\/04\/how-the-indigenous-respect-animals\/","title":{"rendered":"How the indigenous respect animals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Communication happens we know<br \/>\nOut of fulfilment<br \/>\nThe punctillious flow<br \/>\nRespect for each other<br \/>\nAnd deep understanding<br \/>\nGreat acts of courtesy<br \/>\nAnd a good landing<\/p>\n<p>Indigenous people<br \/>\nProjected their feelings<br \/>\nWith animal spirits<br \/>\nIn a good tempered way<br \/>\nKeen to pay homage<br \/>\nAnd  thus to acknowledge<br \/>\nAn outcome and offering<br \/>\nIn which each would pay<\/p>\n<p>A spiritual relationship<br \/>\nClearly was present<br \/>\nBorn out of respect<br \/>\nFor a need that could be<br \/>\nFulfilled by a passing<br \/>\nAnd a ritual thereafter<br \/>\nPreparing the reincarnation<br \/>\nAnd we<\/p>\n<p>who harpooned the great whales<br \/>\nOr speared the marsupials<br \/>\nNever a female with baby<br \/>\nFor they<br \/>\nDisrespect creation<br \/>\nAnd ongoing spirits<br \/>\nAnd the wishes of both parties<br \/>\nOn the given day<\/p>\n<p>To lie on ones deathbed<br \/>\nAnd to be transported<br \/>\nAhead of the angels<br \/>\nDown to the blue sea<br \/>\nUnder the umiak and to be feeling<br \/>\nEach whalers heartbeat<br \/>\nAnd where they be<\/p>\n<p>In the great scheme of things<br \/>\nAn exchange it does happen<br \/>\nA harpoon a spear<br \/>\nAn allegiance of sorts<br \/>\nFidelity constant<br \/>\nTo give to receive<br \/>\nRespect at the outset<br \/>\nA marriage of thoughts<\/p>\n<p>Both parties profit<br \/>\nThey give for each other<br \/>\nAnd reincarnate<br \/>\nAs a wolf maybe so<br \/>\nPerhaps a goanna<br \/>\nA roo or a bowhead<br \/>\nEither way<br \/>\nBoth can be<br \/>\nBack in the flow<\/p>\n<p>The birth of the totem<br \/>\nThe principled offering<br \/>\nThe unsullied untarnished<br \/>\ngift of the age<br \/>\nTo give up ones flesh<br \/>\nTo accomodate others<br \/>\nAnd to then know ones bones<br \/>\nWill form a new page<\/p>\n<p>In the annuls of life<br \/>\nWith respect to each passing<br \/>\nThere is a commitment<br \/>\nA magickal sense<br \/>\nBut nowadays  killers<br \/>\nPick out the females<br \/>\nThey go against nature<br \/>\nAnd so they commense<\/p>\n<p>Upon a dark journey<br \/>\nOf corruptibility<br \/>\nShameful for profit<br \/>\nWorthless villainy<br \/>\nThe Japanese whalers<br \/>\nThe minke mothers<br \/>\nHarpooned with infants<br \/>\nInside them they be<\/p>\n<p>The roo&#8217;s with their joeys<br \/>\nAnd pinkies emerging<br \/>\nTorn down by shooters<br \/>\nIn the dead of the night<br \/>\nNo respect ever  given<br \/>\nJust murderous evil<br \/>\nThe future is violence<br \/>\nCalamitous blight<\/p>\n<p>All animals feel<br \/>\nThe great need to replenish<br \/>\nTo replicate life forms<br \/>\nTo reincarnate<br \/>\nThe indigenous culture<br \/>\nHas honestly known this<br \/>\nAnd holds in high esteem<br \/>\nThe power to create<\/p>\n<p>The slaughter of whales<br \/>\nAnd the murder of Roo&#8217;s<br \/>\nIs still going on now<br \/>\nSuch despicable news<br \/>\nSuch contempt and disdainfulness<br \/>\nIts wholly wrong<br \/>\nIn the grand scheme of life<br \/>\nIt can never belong<\/p>\n<p>It isn&#8217;t sustainable<br \/>\nNot any more<br \/>\nThe will of the spirit<br \/>\nComes to deaths door<br \/>\nWith no gift to reincarnate<br \/>\nAnd therefore<br \/>\nA death thats not  warranted<br \/>\nNot any more<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Communication happens we know Out of fulfilment The punctillious flow Respect for each other And deep understanding Great acts of courtesy And a good landing Indigenous people Projected their feelings With animal spirits In a good tempered way Keen to &hellip;
