In a tiny hamlet
\nknown as Frithsden
\nHertfordshire does boast
\nan area of beauty and forest
\nwhere the most
\nsheltered little vineyard
\nis nestled on a hill
\nsurrounded by rich woodland
\nthat springs to life to spill
\nits natural charm and beauty
\naround us all, as we
\nventure through the Autumn leaves
\nto marvel and to see
\nthe dancers clad in tatters clothes
\nrich purple and bright green
\nthe drum that grabs the heart
\nand draws the feet on that
\nwild scene
\nthat sets the dancers racing
\ntheir sticks its understood
\nthey came today to entertain
\nall from Bricket Wood.
\nthe drum beat and music
\nwas earthy, and sublime
\nfrom the reels one feels
\nthe emotion
\nand readily the rhyme<\/p>\n
Rondo a dark red skinned
\ngrape, a hybrid that
\nmatures
\nearly, giving rich red colour
\nwhich wonderfully endures
\nSolaris and the Seyval Blanc
\nclearly both produce
\nwhite wines of good character
\nfrom fruity perfumed juice
\nthe Open Day was laid back
\nit blended rather well
\nnot a bit pretentious
\nthere were things, they
\ndid sell
\nbut it was done
\nwith thought and care
\nin surroundings to admire
\nthe sun came shining
\nthrough the trees
\ncreating leaves of fire
\na thoroughly lovely vista
\nas Autumn comes to call
\nwith orange, gold and vibrant
\nreds
\nsentinels to all
\nwho ventured into Frithsden
\nthis lovely Autumn day

\nit was calm
