Submissive and passive
\nGlorious souls
\nFaithful and steadfast
\nHonouring roles
\nOf the worlds tallest animal
\nA ruminant they

With a penchant for thorn trees
\nThey never lie flat
\nAlso seldom sleep
\nAnd know where they are at
\nFantastic eyesight
\nAnd hearing to match
\nAmenable characters

\nThe safari’s now use
\nSuch beautiful animals
\nHow we abuse
\nCreation in fact
\nFor each has its place
\nThey have so much substance
\nAnd move with such grace<\/p>\n
Very tough skins
\nAnd a rather small brain
\nBetween their horns
\nTheir suited domain
\nAnywhere leafy green trees
\nGrow they be
\nNot dependent on water
\nIt appears by decree<\/p>\n
To hunt an elephant

\nThey stand stock still
\nFor that is a way
\nThey can share aromatics
\nAnd murmur away
\nTo the sounds of the birds

They possess such long lashes
\nAnd can with each eye
\nSee quite long distances
\nUp into the sky
\nArtists of habit
\nObservers they be
\nClear cut and crystal clear
\nIn what they see<\/p>\n
To see them pole axed
\nBy hunters who say
\nShooting them dead
\nMakes them happy all day
\nSuch mindlessness being
\nWanting I feel
\nWhat is inanity

Talking of conservation
