Justice for Wolves they need us today
\nToo many hunters with too much to say
\nTheir reputation is so undeserved
\nLeaving me honestly feeling unnerved
\nThey have great resourcefulness
\nThat is their strength
\nAnd a wolf is prepared to go to any length
\nTo protect the family
\nThat is their thing
\nThe pack comes together
\nAnd all of them bring<\/p>\n
Willingness team work
\nFraternity
\nMutual assistance
\nThese wild souls who be
\nWorking together
\nFaithful and true
\nWith combined understanding
\nIn all that they do<\/p>\n
The best of friends
\nDaring they be
\nThey dont take things lying down
\nCombatants see
\nIrrational fear
\nSophistical too
\nUnreasoned thoughts
\nIs what humans do<\/p>\n
They threaten and blame
\nThe wild wolf without seeing
\nFlaws in their argument
\nOver this being
\nReputations created
\nwhich are wholly unfair
\nIt does beg the question
\nWhy we are still there<\/p>\n
With our wrong impressions
\nAnd what is our false dawn
\nPreconceived ideas
\nOur fixation born
\nPerhaps from frustration
\nOur prejudiced eye
\nAnd disequilibrium
\nUnder the sky<\/p>\n
They are apex predators
\nWho valuate well
\nGreat arbitrators
\nWith so much to tell
\nUnbiased and dispassionate
\nSententious too
\nThey don’t kill for fun
\nJust to eat so to do<\/p>\n
Providing each other
\nWith sustenance they
\nAre super athletes
\nAnd can run all day
\nTheir brains 30 per cent
\nLarger than dogs
\nThey prefer wild food
\nAnd Are the cogs<\/p>\n
In the great wheel of life
\nWhere survival and need
\nTheir olfactory skills
\nAre all powerful indeed
\nOne hundred times stronger
\nThan any man
\nAnd mate for life
\nReally since life began<\/p>\n
No such thing as divorce
\nor playing away
\nUnless partners die
\nThey always display
\nAcuteness and forthought
\nAnd good strategy
\nBut are used as scapregoats
\nBy us constantly<\/p>\n
Blamed for predation
\nOn cattle we know
\nIt seldom is wolves
\nThey are wise and they show
\nSharp wits and savvy
\nAnd good judgement too
\nUnlike the ranchers
\nWho dont have a clue<\/p>\n
Where we see oafishness
\nInanity
\nSo unenlightened
\nHow can it be
\nAll of this prejudice
\nAnd bigotry
\nFor the wilderness children
\nThe voiceless the free<\/p>\n
Their howling alarms some
\nThose unseemly fools
\nWho cast their dispertions
\nAnd so lack the tools
\nOf interpretation
\nAnd lateral thought
\nOf deductive reasoning
\nAnd thus come up short<\/p>\n
Creative endeavour
\nIs what wolves are about
\nHunting and killing them
\nConceals the doubt
\nAnd the misinformation
\nWhich is never great
\nDisingenuous preaching
\nDeceptive and false
\nConcerning the wolves
\nIs a matter of course<\/p>\n
In many ways humans
\nMay resent their power
\nTheir rich family bonds
\nFor them every hour
\nIs about the family
\nAnd all are involved
\nThe cubs are all priceless
\nMortalities solved<\/p>\n
The need is to care
\nAnd be ready to show
\nTo teach and to mentor
\nAnd stay in the flow
\nAn incorrigibility
\nA mind of their own
\nNot suited to change
\nNor of being alone<\/p>\n
Men are the evil ones
\nInjurious they
\nCause much distress to wolves
\nAnd make them pay
\nSome seem intent
\nOn wiping them clean
\nOff the planet such reasoning
\nSo wrong and so mean<\/p>\n
Justice for wolves
\nThey need us today
\nToo many hunters
\nWith too much to say
\nWho lack rationale
\nAnd sadly ascribe
\nBlame to the innocent
\nThe great wolf tribe<\/p>\n
The impotence of hunters
\nTheir unfitness shows
\nDisarm them and watch them
\nAs their fear grows
\nCowards in their camouflage
\nToothless they be
\nGnashing their teeth
\nBut not wanting to see<\/p>\n
A flabby senility
\nSpineless infact
\nHitmen secreted
\nAnd how they react
\nHigh fives and pissing their pants
\nEqually
\nA collision of consciousness
\nAnd apathy<\/p>\n
Who can kill cubs?
\nThe mainstay of the breed
\nOnly the hunters
\nThey can watch them bleed
\nWith excessive force
\nHeavy handedly they
\nCan dispatch the females
\nIn what is a display<\/p>\n
Of vile patriarchy
\nOf villainous pride
\nOf ill-prepared
\nHalf baked shit
\nFrom inside
\nMockers and scoffers
\nAnd cynics at play
\nFault finding carpers
\nWho bad mouth all day<\/p>\n
And all the wolves suffer
\nThe slander the smears
\nLife cannot get tougher
\nThe snidest of fears
\nWe defame and dishonour
\nWe traduce and malign
\nAnd imagine our profit
