Pillows of cloud
\nIn an azure blue sky
\nWhite arctic wolves
\nTheir mission to ply
\nLiving in starkness
\nA wilderness where
\nInstincts play heavily
\nTo everyone there<\/p>\n
Subsistence is difficult
\nOut in the wild
\nEnduring the hardships
\nCaring for each child
\nIts character building
\nOf that I feel sure
\nWorking and dealing with
\nWhat is Natural Law<\/p>\n
Their tough constitution
\nOfcourse gets them through
\nIts the nuts and the bolts
\nIts what they must do
\nThese apex predators
\nImplicitly must
\nGive voice to their life path
\nAnd just go for bust<\/p>\n
It is really hard
\nAnd the pertinent course
\nIs to run with the wind
\nAnd to eat from the source
\nTo link up with others
\nAnd be on the ball
\nTo be drilled and aligned
\nTo every call<\/p>\n
The primeordial mind
\nWith its judgement of Saul
\nTo always initiate
\nAnd as a rule
\nJust be inventive be genuine too
\nThis is what mother wolves
\nAll have to do<\/p>\n
The family bond
\nIt is earned As we see
\nEach chain of events
\nThey embrace and they be
\nRecalling sncestors
\nHarbingers they
\nUse their heightened senses
\nFor that is their way<\/p>\n
Having five little cubs
\nOne must focus and try
\nTo demonstrate care
\nWhich is really why
\nMother wolves can and have to apply
\nHer rule of law
\nSo they all can get by<\/p>\n
But theres always one
\nWho lags and gets lost
\nAn oddball or weirdo
\nAnd then theres a cost
\nLeft in the wilderness
\nJust on their own
\nPerhaps just defiant
\nBut now all alone<\/p>\n
The pack have moved on
\nMiles eaten away
\nMother may howl
\nTrying to pay
\nAttention to listeneing
\nIf she can hear
\nThe cry of her baby
\nNow in her ear<\/p>\n
What can she do
\nLet instinct rule
\nShe must just go and find
\nHer baby thats all
\nUsing her scent
\nAnd her senses she tries
\nTo retrace her steps
\nAnd to realise<\/p>\n
He will feel abandoned
\nForsaken maybe
\nHe has a quiet howl
\nLoud to him but it be
\nDrowned out by the wind
\nAnd the miles now apart
\nShe must follow her nose
\nAnd go with her heart<\/p>\n
It feels an eternity
\nBoundless untold
\nThe winds getting up
\nAs is the cold
\nThere is hail in the offing
\nThe plague in the air
\nThat hurts when it hits
\nAlmost everywhere<\/p>\n
Endurance and stamina
\nNo not at all
\nThe babies fragility
\nMost as a rule
\nWill be feeling unsettled
\nAnd shocked to their core
\nShe just has to find him
\nThat is for sure<\/p>\n
The little cub desperate
\nSets off to see
\nA wandering minstrel
\nSo far off key
\nHis miniscule howl
\nWith so little power
\nDespite all his energy
\nHour after hour<\/p>\n
He remains unsuccessful
\nAnd she too
\nSuch vulnerability
\nWhat can he do
\nBut howl ever louder
\nAnd hope his mama
\nComes to his rescue
\nFrom however far<\/p>\n
The vastness the infinite
\nSpace up and down
\nIts no mans land
\nFar from a town
\nUnsettled and desolate
\nA godforsaken place
\nWhere the heart and the mind
\nTire with every pace<\/p>\n
And then on the top of a hillock
\nShe hears
\nHer baby wailing
\nHis frantic fears
\nBeginning to fail him
\nIn his sweet bubble he
\nis at his wits end
\nAnd then he does see<\/p>\n
Her once again together they be
\nAnd she must get back to the pack
\nWhich is key
\nHis short little legs
\nLike a gatling gun
\nBackwards and forwards
\nIts a long run<\/p>\n
Keeping up with his mother
\nAnd soon he can see
\nThe pack all his brothers and sisters
\nThey be
\nOut on the ridge
\nWith his papa
\nThe family are one again
