Poor judgement
\nCreated an anomaly
\nA place where re wilding
\nWas expected to be
\nSloppy thinking
\nLack of vision
\nA false dawn we got
\n22 square kilometres
\nAnd its going to pot<\/p>\n
A National Park
\nOn re-claimed land
\nThe Netherlands how sad
\nYou dont understand
\nThe ways of Nature
\nAnd the need to care
\nSo we now sit in judgement
\nAnd Their sadness we share<\/p>\n
Reedbeds on clay
\nLittle shelter we see
\nHerbivores grazing
\nSuch sophistry
\nLoose thinking
\nUnfounded but sadly we know
\n2005’s winter really did throw<\/p>\n
A hell of a spanner
\nOut into the works
\nSo many animals perished
\nThere lurks
\nIgnorance and arrogance
\nAnd the refusal to see
\nThe obvious meaning
\nThe animals be<\/p>\n
Wasting away and therefore dissent
\nNaivete really
\nThat was their bent
\nAnd animals suffered
\nAnimals died
\nRe wilding the opposite
\nAnd now they hide<\/p>\n
The fact that this park
\nSees the rangers each year
\nTake out the animals
\nShoot them the fear
\nIs otherwise herbivores
\nCannot exist
\nIn the wintry climes
\nWhat a terrible twist<\/p>\n
On natural enchantment
\nOn positiveness
\nOn affirmative action
\nAnd resurgence no less
\nOf a blessed revival
\nEven a rebirth
\nSanctuary heaven
\nUpon the green earth<\/p>\n
Instead barbed wire fences
\nAnd high concrete walls
\nVegetation suffers
\nBut killing appals
\nThose who would make amends
\nThose who would try
\nAnd protect and recover
\nAnd so by and by<\/p>\n
There is no connection
\nNo corridors here
\nA wasted opportunity
\nBreathing such fear
\nInto hearts and to consciousness
\nThat all can feel
\nDeterioration and collapse
\nIts so real<\/p>\n
Withdrawing money
\nWe ravage through time
\nCripple and mutilate
\nDebts climb and climb
\nAnimals suffer
\nCollateral they
\nAre the victims of manunkind
\nWho gets away<\/p>\n
