\nThey persisted where others didnt
\nThey had guts and they were game

\nA plodding spirit they
\nWere obstinate and stubborn

They were brawny they were strapping
\nIn many ways supreme
\nThey really had the staying power
\nMore so than it might seem
\nAcquiescent and consentient
\nClearly opportune
\nFocused Yes they could conform
\nAnd primarily attune<\/p>\n
The saving grace was changeable
\nSea changes they have made
\nThey have had to be alternative
\nThey never could have stayed
\nIn one place they were always
\nMoving on and on
\nConverting and transforming
\nWhere others just have gone<\/p>\n
All sorts of varying habitats
\nAll sorts of dietrary need
\nThey had a versatlity
\nThey evolved they did succeed
\nThey have been around forever
\nSurvivors to the cause
\nAnd had the mind to pause<\/p>\n
To realize shortcomings
\nA dental flexibility
\nClimbers runners swimmers
\nEvolution favoured them
\nMade them what we see
\nMany species died out
\nAll along the way
\nThe sabre tooth
\nThe ground sloth
\nThe mammoth
\nAll did pay<\/p>\n
Their camouflage was perfect
\nTheir adaptablity
\nFrom tearing flesh off carrion
\nTo bamboo shoots that be
\nTough and needed grinding
\nThey had the where for all
\nTo actually have a strategy
\nAnd to really be on call<\/p>\n
To increase tongue length
\nAnd eat termites
\nTo adapt to not be too proud
\nDespite the competition
\nTo always be ready to change
\nThe one soul in the crowd<\/p>\n
To adopt hibernation
\nSustainable and true
\nIts all about evolving
\nIt is what the bears do
\nThey are the true survivors
\nAnd their adaptablity
\nHas guaranteed their place
\nTill now
\nAs a species actually<\/p>\n
Man ofcourse is their problem
\nAll wild creatures know
\nMan is a warring monster
\nWhose arrogance does grow
\nWhose ignorance is obvious
\nWhose downfall possibly
\nWill come sooner or later
