\nWhich is why we should ask why
\nMan so very unkind chooses
\nReally to apply
\nHis arrogant behaviour
\nTo adding captivity
\nTo what is a wild cetacean
\nWho should be forever free<\/p>\n
Immortally enduring
\nSubsisting naturally
\nIn cold arctic oceans
\nWhere it was meant to be
\nAn alien world of make believe
\nAlabaster souls
\nMagickal in so many ways
\nWho breathe by their blowholes<\/p>\n
Melon headed chalky white
\nEndowed with language they
\nReally twitter all the time
\nFree spirits who do play
\nThey have a true connectedness
\nA kinship to admire
\nAnd babies stay with their mothers
\nAt least For an entire
\nYear and even longer
\nAnd so captivity
\nIs man being ultra ignorant
\nFor their matriarchy<\/p>\n
Is everything to Beluga’s
\nMutual dependence rules
\nIts therefore confrontational
\nIt takes the human fools
\nLittle time and intellect
\nTo come up with their plight
\nAnd challenge what is harmony
\nFor them and therefore right<\/p>\n
Captivity is hellish
\nA tank of chemical brew
\nChlorine and nothing thats living
\nAnd a human crew
\nFeeding them with dead fish
\nNo waves no ice no snow
\nNo arctic climes their camouflage
\nWanting as we know<\/p>\n
Their total coloration
\nShould press our buttons hard
\nClearly in a show tank
\nThey would be off guard
\nInferior and lowly
\nDisjointed and alone
\nRuptured from creation
\nAnd everything they have known<\/p>\n
The wholeness the integrity
\nThe unity they feel
\nSelf-sufficient and integral
\nIn the ocean they were real
\nIn a tank of chlorine
\nWhere little is alive
\nOverwhelmed with negatives
\nWhere it is hard to survive<\/p>\n
It just shows how inadequate
\nMen can really be
\nHow they set out to shorten lives
\nAnd create the misery
\nAn ultramundane concrete tank
\nUnnassimiliated there
\nInfringing what is all they are
\nCreators of despair<\/p>\n
Chaos bedlam disunion
\nOut of step and out of line
\nStandardized and schematized
\nEven when they dine
\nIts all to do with getting drugs
\nInto them each day
\nHumanizing these gifted souls
\nAnd forcing them to pay<\/p>\n
The beginning is much closer to their end
\nDiscovery
\nThey are now on the red list
\nBut did not have to be
\nThats down to our iniative
\nThe tip we fail to see
\nAll the icebergs melting
\nNot so their ancestry<\/p>\n
We have dragged our feet for ever
\n“Blackfish” made the point
\nReaction to the cruelty
\nIt should disappoint
\nMarine biologists everywhere
\nAnd all humans with a heart
\nWho feel and love humanity
\nAnd want for us to start<\/p>\n
Thinking really out of the tank
\nThinking honestly
\nRealizing cetaceans
\nReally need to be
\nNot in darkest vilest tanks
\nOf complete human sin
\nBut out in the wild ocean
