\nComes into this world
\nAnd thats when its troubles begin
\nIts parents to prevent predation
\nHave laid the eggs high

A life and a family
\nAnd food on the table
\nThe poor little chick
\nHas to leap
\nOver the cliff and fall
\n400 feet
\nHitting big jagged rocks
\n“Cheep cheep cheep”<\/p>\n
They are the soft sounds of making
\nThe gandering initiation
\nJust close your eyes and leap
\nInto their air
\nYou are extra fluffy
\nSo that wing and that prayer<\/p>\n
Is all that you have
\nTo herald your spring
\nTo kick start your life
\nTo be able to fling
\nYour cute little fluff bag
\nOut into the air
\nTo set your ball rolling
\nI know its not fair<\/p>\n
Take the plunge
\nAuspicate
\nin a nutshell ofcourse
\nYou have no time
\nto wait<\/p>\n
Your primordial leap
\nIs your massive debut
\nLaunch your self
\nLead the way
\nIts your time to do<\/p>\n
And though you can’t fly
\nYou will fall like a stone
\nHitting the rocks
\nLike nothing you’ve known
\nYou were made tiny
\nAnd fluffy as hell
\nAnd if you keep it together
\nYou will manage it well<\/p>\n
So each does its leap
\nAnd down it does fall
\nTill it eventually bounces
\nAnd then hears the call
\nOf its mother and father
\nWaiting below
\nSaying when you do stop
\nFollow us we will show<\/p>\n
You where to eat
\nAnd thats what they do
\nLeap into the air
\nAnd hope it comes true
\nSome do not make it
\nDropping out of the sky
\nThey fall like lead weights
\nAnd sadly they die<\/p>\n
Others get lost
\nThey dont meet up below
\nHaving such fearful parents
\nLife suffers we know<\/p>\n
One or two manage
\nThey struggle though they
\nLearn from the experience
\nAnd come what may
\nAre stronger for it
\nFor faith has a way
\nOf rewarding the babies
\nOn their given day<\/p>\n
Watching them free fall
\nIs a frustrating thing
\nWatching them bash into rocks
\nIt does bring
\nOut some trepidation
\nAnd a mother’s release
\nLife is topsy turvy
\nFor these Barnacle geese<\/p>\n
You have to feel sorry
\nAt such a young age
\nTo leap off a cliff
\nAnd just try to engage
\nIt feels like insanity
\nIf you ask me
