There was Knowledge and enlightenment
\nAn order in a time gone by
\nWhen consciousness was relevant
\nAnd acquaintanceship was high
\nLore and wisdom had been acquired
\nBy experience most true
\nIt was all hands on and mindful
\nIts what they did do<\/p>\n
Living side by side with animals
\nSharing precious earth
\nComing to an understanding
\nInspired By its worth
\nJudgement and discretion
\nPrudence and forethought
\nCareful and far seeing
\nDown to earth so sort<\/p>\n
Experienced and level-headed
\nInstinctively addressed
\nA lot of intuition
\nAnd involvement being blessed
\nWith empathy for living
\nA catharsis for it all
\nCloser to ancestors
\nWho would always be on call<\/p>\n
Inspiration everywhere
\nSpirited desires
\nSensitive and vibrant
\nUnctuous soulful fires
\nGushing and effusive
\nInfluenced and stirred
\nEnraptured by the environment
\nLyrical of word<\/p>\n
Being close to Nature
\nRespecting her for she
\nLaid out their survival
\nThe platter seemingly
\nWas everywhere and anywhere
\nThey had to learn to be
\nAt one with the environment
\nAnd sensibility<\/p>\n
Was essential, being responsive
\nCompassionate and true
\nTo share the animals magic
\nTheir vitalness to do
\nTheir impact their enchantment
\nTheir uncontrollable sense
\nEmotive and evocative
\nDignified and tense<\/p>\n
The indigenous were there
\nTheir intuition built
\nTheir responsiveness to the natural world
\nNot really bringing guilt
\nInto the equation
\nTheir appreciation for
\nAll children of the rainbow
\nNot wishing to ignore<\/p>\n
Any wild soul anywhere
\nAll were valued, and
\nWere mentored with endurance
\nFor living on the land
\nFor feeling all that ecstasy
\nAll that vigour all that zeal
\nWhether carnivores or herbivores
\nEach of them did feel<\/p>\n
And proudly painted pictures
\nIn the caverns on the land
\nDepicting favourite animals
\nThat all could understand
\nThe Kangaroo the Wallaby
\nGoannes eagles too
\nRespecting all wild creatures
\nGenuine and true<\/p>\n
4000 years nomadic tribes
\nWere tangible for they
\nReal they were phenomenal
\nIn every single way
\nProtectors of the environment
\nFortuitous and strong
\nWith their status and their footing
\nThey knew they did belong<\/p>\n
They had kinship with each other
\nA common interest too
\nThe world and all its differences
\nAnd nuances were true
\nCreativeness uniquely
\nBrought a newness and a way
\nBrought art into being
\nWith the pigments on display
\nA coherence and a consequence
\nThe attunement of each soul
\nAnd harmony apparent
\nWith gender as a whole<\/p>\n
The sun the moon the wind
\nThe sky no different from today
\nThe vastness of the dry red earth
\nWhose moderate display
\nOf boundlessness of mobs
\nOf Kangaroo’s and Wallabies
\nGoanna’s eagles they
\nRespected living side by side
\nUnimpaired in any way<\/p>\n
Moving on to now to city dwellers
\nWho aspire
\nTo living in the concrete box
\nWired up with wifi fire
\nbare feet Very rarely
\nThe gravity below
\nAnd Covering up our bodies
\nAll superficially slow<\/p>\n
Wildness not apparent
\nThe elements alas
\nNot Part of our being
\nbeing in our own morass
\nwired up to the chaos
\nWith sensations of pain
\nabsorbing the activity
\nOf fighting to stay sane<\/p>\n
Money and the corporatocracy
\nInvaders of our mind
\nIn our concrete citadels
\nIs where perhaps you may find
\nA wired up synthetic human
\nWho knows the out backs there
\nWho knows thats there are kangaroos
\nBut doesnt want to share<\/p>\n
Is selfishly so arrogant
\nWho resents the kangaroo
\nWho is found on the coat of arms
\nAnd is indigenous all through
\nSoft footed kind to Australia
\nDesigned officially
\nby all of the ancestors
\nWho shared freedom so closely<\/p>\n
Totems were respected today though
\nThe elite
\nThe ignorant the farming clans
\nWant for home grown meat
\nTo feed the dogs to feed the cats
\nTo feed the city dwellers
\nVery heaty bush meat
\nShot by the shooter fellars<\/p>\n
A disunion of the untrained
\nAfter money all the way
\nUnenlightened killers
\nWhose unruly display
\nOf entangled baled up killings
\nLacking concentration
\nIn disarray and scattered
\nWho shoot these mobs of kangaroo’s
\nAs if it never mattered<\/p>\n
As if there was no history
\nNo rock art anywhere
\nNo dream world and no great mother
\nJust born out despair
\nA scourge of violent ruffians
\nWho butcher night and day
\nMurdering the many totems
\nWith a lot to say<\/p>\n
Thousands being slaughtered
\nNo respect at all
\nA blistering patriarchy
\nThat truly does appal
\nA lot of it for pet foods
\nFor leather and thats it
\nButchered in the outback
\nBush meat’s fire is lit<\/p>\n
Fast becoming awful
\nMultitudes are shot
\nJoeys then are stomped on
\nTheir tails soon in the pot
\nMother time was long ago
\nWith nurturing at the heart
\nNowadays its all spivvery
