{"id":35607,"date":"2018-01-28T10:33:20","date_gmt":"2018-01-28T10:33:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=35607"},"modified":"2018-01-28T11:57:27","modified_gmt":"2018-01-28T11:57:27","slug":"east-london-zoo-beaconsfield-road-e-london-east-cape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2018\/01\/east-london-zoo-beaconsfield-road-e-london-east-cape\/","title":{"rendered":"East London Zoo, Beaconsfield Road E London East Cape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its more like an internment camp<br \/>\nThan a flourishing healthy zoo<br \/>\nPoor behavioural enrichments<br \/>\nBarren concretes do<br \/>\nLittle to enhance the lives<br \/>\nOf animals alas<br \/>\nNeglected obviously hungry<br \/>\nSickly there enmasse<\/p>\n<p>Cages dark and dingy<br \/>\nNo fresh water around<br \/>\nIt clearly is  substandard<br \/>\nThats what most have found<br \/>\nFriends of the East London  Zoo<br \/>\nApparently  must see<br \/>\nThat this old zoo is  failing<br \/>\nAnd that ZOo&#8217;s are history<\/p>\n<p>Wild animals need space<br \/>\nAnd at Queens Park that is bad<br \/>\nIts close to the city centre<br \/>\nBut the animals have had<br \/>\nA dreary life for certain<br \/>\nThey are under nourished and<br \/>\nIn their segregation<br \/>\nDo not understand<\/p>\n<p>So much deterioration<br \/>\nIts inadequate to say the least<br \/>\nFormless interrupted<br \/>\nNo place for man or beast<br \/>\nThere is a lack of  discipline<br \/>\nAmong the keepers there<br \/>\nAnd the animals are suffering<br \/>\nThey show you their  despair<\/p>\n<p>Its slovenly and untidy<br \/>\nShambolic I can say<br \/>\nThere isnt sufficient money<br \/>\nUnkempt uncombed dismay<br \/>\nDisharmony you feel it<br \/>\nIt falls into disarray<br \/>\nClearly very messy<br \/>\nIncreasingly each day<\/p>\n<p>A certain air of madness<br \/>\nIts upsetting when you see<br \/>\nPacing and head bobbing<br \/>\nAnd stress so blatantly<br \/>\nConfusion misdirected<br \/>\nFor me the end is near<br \/>\nLive animals need love and care<br \/>\nAnd its very very clear<\/p>\n<p>That quality is lacking<br \/>\nThe staff dont seem to care<br \/>\nAnd the animals are suffering<br \/>\nAnd how can that be fair<br \/>\nSince 1880 its been there<br \/>\nA gathering of souls<br \/>\nClearly beyond its sell by date<br \/>\nHaving lost its goals<\/p>\n<p>Many looking underfed<br \/>\nOld before their time<br \/>\nYou can feel their vulnerability<br \/>\nTheir unsteadiness to climb<br \/>\nA frailty and infirmity<br \/>\nIll health its there to see<br \/>\nInactivity and prostration<br \/>\nIts smacks inadequacy<\/p>\n<p>On their last legs, some of them<br \/>\nThe place falling apart<br \/>\nLimping hobbling hamstrung<br \/>\nIts lost all its  heart<br \/>\nIts dormant and its passive<br \/>\nThe apathy abounds<br \/>\nMany vegetating and making<br \/>\nGhastly sounds<\/p>\n<p>Animals need space<br \/>\nAnd clearly here it isnt right<br \/>\nIts no more than a prison cell<br \/>\nWithout sufficient height<br \/>\nNothing for them to play with<br \/>\nAs boring as it can be<br \/>\nYou can see they are running short of funds<br \/>\nMateriality<\/p>\n<p>Its clearly non existent<br \/>\nForgetfulness and oversight<br \/>\nCarelessness and unobservant<br \/>\nOblivious which can&#8217;t be right<br \/>\nThere is a don&#8217;t care attitude<br \/>\nA laziness about<br \/>\nThe animals are uncared for<br \/>\nAnd thats without a  doubt<\/p>\n<p>It comes down to sloppy thinking<br \/>\nA lack of vision too<br \/>\nClearly a lack of money<br \/>\nUnsure of what to do<br \/>\nWrong headed and unseeing<br \/>\nIntolerant as well<br \/>\nA zoo thats clearly failing<br \/>\nFor the animals is hell<\/p>\n<p>This place needs to be closed down<br \/>\nAnd the animals transferred to facilities<br \/>\nThat will look after them and give them<br \/>\nMore behavioural enrichments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Its more like an internment camp Than a flourishing healthy zoo Poor behavioural enrichments Barren concretes do Little to enhance the lives Of animals alas Neglected obviously hungry Sickly there enmasse Cages dark and dingy No fresh water around It &hellip;
