Apparently there is joy
\nAmongst Duck Hunters
\nWhen the season starts
\nThey are out there
\nKilling, they
\nUse 12 bore shot guns
\nBuy their permits
\nAnd shoot these lovely ducks
\nIts the greatest sport
\nor so they say<\/p>\n
Every hunter has to take an
\nIdentification course
\nbefore they hunt
\nNot use lead
\nand retrieve all fallen birds
\nClearly without policing all that, goes out the window
\nAnd apparently they are all out for a punt<\/p>\n
There are prohibited species
\nBut they still get killed
\nLead is used, which is toxic as hell
\nNot just for the injured birds
\nBut for the hunters them as well
\nThe environment is suffering
\nThere is a rampant spell<\/p>\n
Of evil and great heartache
\nA waking nightmare happening we see
\nPain and great affliction
\nMisery and prostration
\nA hopelessness and displeasure now there be<\/p>\n
Lead pollutes, its banned but it is cheaper
\nAnd so the hunters use it they don’t care
\nIts disgusting and lamenting
\nRemorseful unrelenting
\nIts intolerable killing birds
\nBeing aware<\/p>\n
The damage that it does
\nOut in the water, on the banks wherever it may fall
\nWounded ducks can suffer such malignity
\nA horrible ghastly end for one and all<\/p>\n
What is wrong with so called hunters
\nAnd the government who allows
\nThis evil calling it a sport
\nIts an abuse of powers
\nThere are many illegals
\nWhose squalor many see
\nWho actually are philistines
\nBased around vulgarity<\/p>\n
Is there any hope for sanity?
\nNot a glimmer i would say
\nThey seem resigned to slaughter
\nIn a diabolical way
\nInconsolable injuries
\nDesolate forlorn
\nIll omened and ominous
\nClearly they seem torn<\/p>\n
For me its purely killing
\nThis is never sport
\nRed necks without empathy
\nClearly over wrought
\nThey possess a lack of wonder
\nAnd no duty of care
\nIts characterless confusion
\nOf the totally unaware<\/p>\n
The fact that the states take money
\nIs a scruffy vulgar scheme
\nAnd then to not police it
\nClearly they dont redeem
\nThe honour its just compromise
\nUnhymned debunked unsung
\nWhich attracts the unennobled
\nThe loutish brutish bung<\/p>\n
Where is the humiliation
\nIts humbling to see
\nDucks still swimming with eyes shot out
\nClearly in agony
\nIts shameless and insulting
\nThe woundings that we see
\nAnd how cavalier some shooters are
\nIll mannered actually<\/p>\n
Inimical and unfriendly
\nUnsympathetic to the cause
\nReally rather hostile
\nNot prepared to pause
\nDistant and unwelcoming
\nActively Aggressive and militant
\nThey be
\nAnd at risk themselves of poisoning
\nWhich so many fail to see<\/p>\n
