Such immense vitality
\nAll their true born days
\nSlicing up the grass lengths
\nDeveloping ways
\nTo carry the splices
\nBack to their nest
\n50 times their weight
\nWhich is why they are best<\/p>\n
But they do not eat grass
\nTheir alloted span
\nIs to cut it and carry it
\nAn instinctive plan
\nThey feed fungal gardens
\nComposting the grass
\nAnd then eat the fungi
\nWhich is first class<\/p>\n
As it degenerates
\nIt tends to produce
\nco2 which could cook their goose
\nCould gas them wholly to death
\nBut these ants
\nRather than gasp and give out long pants
\nThey create ventilation shafts
\nInside their hills
\nSo compost and ventilate
\nSuch are the skills<\/p>\n
Of miniature grass ants
\nThe pampas so wild
\nUnique in their expertise
\nIt must have been dialled
\nUp in their consciousness
\nLong long ago
