A vivid stream of consciousness
\nA sixth sense maybe so
\nA little lamb in ivy
\nHow large will it grow
\nIts inner child is resting
\nA personality
\nReasoning and thinking
\nOf running so freely<\/p>\n
Inquisitiveness is how the
\nYoung learn or so we are told
\nThis little lamb is dreaming
\nAs in the hay he is rolled
\nAgog with all the noises
\nAnd the many trees
\nTheir branches dancing skywards
\nAlways trying to please<\/p>\n
The little souls neglected
\nUnguarded and left alone
\nUnaware of his future
\nHow his seeds are sown
\nWe hear the probability
\nIs he will sadly be
\nGoing off to slaughter
\nYes this sweet baby<\/p>\n
Lamb is so sought after
\nBy the carnivores in Spring
\nWho use mint sauce and vinegar
\nThey say it will bring
\nThe succulence and flavour
\nOut of the babies meat
\nHuman beings love Spring lamb
\nThey cannot wait to eat<\/p>\n
I believe its an injustice
\nIts hide bound and its wrong
\nThat lamb had hoped for many dreams
\nPositive all along
\nBut instead our parochialism
\nAnd our clannish way
\nConsigned the soul to the slaughter house
\nThere to end its day<\/p>\n
The sage may puke whilst watching
\nThe baby all alone
\nLed into the killing room
\nThinking he might own
\nA slice of lamb or possibly
\nA rack or a chop or two
\nThe deceptiveness of carnivores
