Enduring undying
\nEternal is she
\nA genuine attested women
\nAnd free
\nOf what was a rampant sexism
\nWhich took
\nmany to task but for her was a hook<\/p>\n
She managed to overcome
\nWith Her mothers power
\nAnd Her mothers commitment
\nShe was her tower
\nOf strength and conditioning
\nThat we can say
\nAnd Jane was absorbed
\nIn the light of each day<\/p>\n
She was absorbed by Africa’s
\nSense
\nWith the world of the primates
\nAnd the immense
\nrespect for them
\nChimpanzee’s were going to be
\nA lifetime study extraordinarily<\/p>\n
Time was of the essence
\nShe knew that she’d be
\nDevoting her life really
\nA constancy
\nShe would endure many years
\nAnd abide
\nBy the love and the care
\nOf being beside<\/p>\n
Timelessness takes over
\nEndurance too
\nContinual and ceaseless
\nIts how you do
\nWhat you do with them
\nIn an unfading light
\nFor better for worse
\nBy day and by night<\/p>\n
Watching and waiting
\nWith patience and trust
\nInteracting with affection
\nWhich was a must
\nTo get their forebearance
\nTo establish a bond
\nMuch solitude shared
\nTo both then be fond<\/p>\n
Their vulnerability
\nAnd hers too
\nTwo minds with one thought
\nRunning parallel to
\nBeing together
\nFeeling the need
\nComplete understanding
\nOf how to succeed<\/p>\n
Use of tools they were capable
\nAnd they knew they
\nHad a stream of consciousness
\nOn any given day
\nEnquiring minds and inquisitiveness
\nMorbidly curious
\nAnd ghoulish no less<\/p>\n
She found joy there
\nAnd sadness and ofcourse tragedy
\nWhen polio struck the affliction was key
\nThat true unpleasantness
\nIt set her back
\nThe grief and the misery
\nIt did attack
\nMade her uneasy obsessively so
\nIt was intolerable as we now know<\/p>\n
But her uprightness and goodness was there
\nHer base integrity which she would share
\nHer sense of honour and conscientiousness
\nCandour and true faith who could want for less
\nCardinal virtues impeccably so
\nShe stood by her primates
\nAnd received their glow<\/p>\n
Its really the love of them
\nHer celebration
\nHer unobtrusiveness
\nYes her salvation
\nStraight out of the top draw
\nOf gentility
\nJane made her way
\nAnd is where she should be<\/p>\n
With the chimpanzees probably
