Burning
\nPolluting
\nOur personal space
\nWith imported chemicals
\nRight in our face
\nIts nothing but scandalous
\nThat is my view
\nWe destroy all thats good
\nThat is what we do<\/p>\n
We mimic a war
\nWith the cannons and sprays
\nWith the crackles and colours
\nCome see the displays
\nOf metals and injurious chemicals too
\nFire burning bright
\nBut not good and true<\/p>\n
Wild animals suffer
\nAs do our pets
\nSome of those noises
\nGive me the sweats
\nAerial patterning
\nMaybe but I
\nWould rather watch birds
\nThan fireworks that fly<\/p>\n
Its unstraightforwardness
\nAnd its unfair
\nThe garbage we send
\nWinging into the air
\nI am suspicious its all villainy
\nImporting these chemicals
\nJust spivvery<\/p>\n
Those finding it harder
\nTo breathe on the night
\nThe tortuous and sinister
\nIgnoble light
\nCreating vile colours
\nAnd sinister stars
\nRockets propped up
\nAnd fired out of jars<\/p>\n
Aimed at the thatched
\nHouse over the way
\nOr into the duck pond
\nSome people play
\nThese kinds of tricks
\nIn the fervour of night
\nFor me this chicanery
\nCan never be right<\/p>\n
Its dark and theres smoke
\nIts covetous joy
\nMaking a noise
\nIts when we can annoy
\nThe old the infirm
\nWhen we do what we choose
\nLight our bangers and run
\nTanked up on booze<\/p>\n
For me an irreverence
\nI’m not impressed
\nNothing to wonder at
\nMore I feel stressed
\nThis is not magic
\nIts chemicalization
\nIts ingloriousness
