\nAre words that are used
\nThese days unfortunately
\nThey are abused
\nAnimals slaughtered in rings
\nIn Spain and elsewhere
\nThe gushing of blood
\nInto vile dark despair<\/p>\n
The fifth of November
\nThe gunpowder plot
\nGuy Fawkes and all
\nHis aura has not
\nBeen precisely accurate
\nThus he must turn
\nIn his grave
\nKnowing truthfully
\nWhat people burn<\/p>\n
The fireworks they let off
\nMostly now come
\nFrom China a fantasy really
\nTo numb
\nThe mind and the Airways
\nTo breathing fresh air
\nAnd replacing its sweetness
\nFor others to share<\/p>\n
With all sorts of chemicals
\nPollutants galore
\nHeavy metals and such an array
\nSo much more
\nSulfur coal compounds
\nAntimony
\nBarium copper and much more
\nNow be<\/p>\n
Released on that night
\nAll over the place
\nTo fall into rivers
\nAnd lakes the disgrace
\nOf widespread pollution
\nOn such a scale
\nAnd its all about culture
\nThe invisible trail<\/p>\n
Smut smudge and soot
\nSmoke scourings too
\nAshes and cinders
\nIt is what we do
\nPropel all these substances
\nInto the sky
\nWith the family oft under it
\nSo I ask why?<\/p>\n
Nobody realises whats in the air
\nWhat we are party to
\nWhat we now share
\nThe unwholesome injurious particles
\nThere
\nInvisibly floating
\nDown in the air<\/p>\n
They are a menace to defenceless souls
\nSuch easy targets
\nWhere’s the controls
\nWe are all vulnerable out on a limb
\nAnd we don’t get a warning
\nWe are left on the rim<\/p>\n
Carcinogens poisons
\nAll sorts of stuff
\nRaining down on our children
\nHow much is enough
\nHarmfulness hurtfulness
\nMischief abroad
\nContamination
\nWho can afford
\nTo breathe in these chemicals
\nMany unknown
\nIts scandalous really
\nWhen it is home grown<\/p>\n
The intention we know
\nTo Provide a display
\nWith Rockets and bangers
\nAnd floaters and spray
\nAll sorts of colours
\nGlittering greens
\nLithium red
\nWatch our livers and spleens<\/p>\n
Skin irritation
\nChoking galore
\nBurns units are overworked
\nMore and more
\nSmoke inhalation
\nNone of us know
\nWhat we are breathing
\nAnd how it does grow<\/p>\n
Its iniquitous really
\nShameful I’d say
\nInsidious injurious chemicals play
\nInto the sky with a troublous affect
\nDistressing and harmful
\nWhen they eject
\nThe intention is one thing
\nBut mostly I feel
\nIts to make a big profit
\nAnd to do it with zeal<\/p>\n
And its got out of hand
\nLike all this stuff will
\nIts not just the fifth
\nPeople get their thrill
\nBy partying clearly
\nAnd going to shows
\nWhere even more dangerous
\nFireworks it grows
\nOut of proportion
\nAs cities as well
\nBuy into tradition
\nCreating their hell<\/p>\n
Animals suffer
\nMany will die
\nBirds bats and wild souls
\nAll wonder why
\nAmbulance fire stations
\nAll take their hit
\nAs the public go bonkers
\nAnd soak up the shit<\/p>\n
Tradition and culture
\nThe wrong words to choose
\nCorporate profits
\nWith no time to lose
\nImporting these pollutants
\nMany unknown
\nAnd selling them on
\nTo many so prone<\/p>\n
To breathing problems
\nSkin irritation
\nWe all are suffering
\nWhen any nation
\nGoes blooming bonkers
\nAnd sets off these things
\nWe really must learn
\nWhat this culture now brings<\/p>\n
Down on us all
\nNothing healthy for sure
\nso do not support it
\nbring in the law<\/p>\n
