The sun is wrestling wildly
\nWith the clamour of the gray
\nTenacity you have to hand it
\nTo the sun today
\nA sea of slate is lapping
\nStruggling to be
\nSeen in every quarter
\nBringing its misery<\/p>\n
She’s back that ball of crimson
\nFlesh coloured now I’d say
\nStruggling to be seen against
\nThe leaden and sombre display
\nA swirl of inky smutty charred
\nAnd back she comes for more
\nseemingly a bit off guard
\nlosing some light I am sure<\/p>\n
She has gone though now defeated
\nBy the incessant roar
\nThe drapes that hung across the sky
\nThat many might ignore
\nThe opacity impervious to the failing
\nLight alas
\nThe gauzy opalescent milky variegated
\nGas<\/p>\n
She’s back the sun procuring
\nYet another time
\nIts gusting look at those telephone wires
\nBouncing watch them climb
\nThis might be the sequel
\nTo the onslaught on the way
\nSomething we have all been told about
\nSomething to spoil our day<\/p>\n
Is it an aberration of some kind
\nWe all must wait
\nInfinity is boundless
\nThe natural world is great
\nWe are less than ants
\nIn this huge dome we call the earth
\nWe think we control the universe
\nBut we have so little worth<\/p>\n
Standing with our wooden swords
\nUp against the might
\nThe unlimited winds are blowing
\nTo scythe into the night
\nOur fragility is obvious
\nOur impermanent desire
\nFading as the sun has
\nOur fear becoming dire<\/p>\n
A red kite weaves its magic
\nOverhead so volatile
\nRestless and unsettled
\nFleeting for a while
\nA final meal to chomp upon
\nBefore the gathering storm
\nAnd fly into eternity
\nWhere everything feels warm<\/p>\n
An immediacy is present
\nAnd aftermath a glow
\nIs it to be the trailer
\nFor the feature do you know?
\nA mobile swings around
\nCatching a limited draught
\nAutumn clearly joking
\nBut nobody has laughed<\/p>\n
Low down the plants are shifting
\nThats an ominous turn of events
\nLike whirlgigs that flicker and flutter
\nWhere’s the sense
\nGusts are rolling in now
\nThe thrusts are everywhere
\nArmies of great warriors
\nTheir ability to share<\/p>\n
Our weakness is we are human
\nWith a corpulence beyond
\nThe flashing crashing ruination
\nGaia’s magic wand
\nlifted and pronounced upon
\nEradication comes
\nThe rot and rust appears unjust
\nAt the sound of all those drums<\/p>\n
The storm is coming gentlefolk
\nPromised, on its way
\nDemolisher and leveller
\nSome of us will pay
\nSo get your wooden swords out
\nAnd stay the giants hand
\nWipe away your mildew
