\nIn Detroit I hear
\nBack in 52
\nIt became kind of clear
\nWith 8 arms
\nTheir seemed some significance
\nAnd so
\nThey Adopted the octopus

Live and dead creatures
\nWhen the play offs were won
\nSmuggled into the game
\nPeople thought it great fun
\nSuch a lack of respect
\nAnd irreverence here
\nThere is no point
\nFor me that is clear<\/p>\n
Its humiliation i have to say
\nThey have such intelligence
\nBut seem to pay
\nFor some silly idea
\nIts mocking them and we
\nShould be above this

Red wings red faces more

\nSuperciliious nonsense
\nJust futility
\nGet on with your playing
