\nMost look the other way
\nPost our comments freely
\nAnd go to bed at night

\nShot down by the heartless traders
\nSedation constantly
\nThe parents chased off by the sounds

\nThe babies put on trucks
\nKidnapped and life fades<\/p>\n
Rapidly for all of them
\nIts about money in the bank
\nCITES Talks up regulation
\nBut now to be frank
\nThese elephants are tortured
\nKicked about and they
\nWake up from sedation
\nAnd suffer everyday<\/p>\n
Imagine how the family feel
\nWondering where they have gone
\nOne minute they were all together
\nLife for them was on
\nPar wih all the miracles
\nAnd suddenly no more
\nCut down by the silent darts

Like phantoms whirly monsters

Zoo’s have got the money

Babies need their mothers
\nThe matriarchal queen
\nThey are totally helpless
\nCites are so mean
\nThey haven’t got an earthly chance
\nTo make it thats for sure

Basically life’s over

We might as well just shoot them

Zoo’s are profit making
\nWild animsls need care
\nThey live within a family
\nIn the wilds ofcourse they share
\nThe newness and the freshness
\nAnd the knowledge of each age
\nThe abundance of gaia

The fervour and the zestfulness
\nThe energizing thrust
\nEnlivened by the environment
\nAnd my the family trust
\nWitnessing this violence
\nAnd fury men impart
\nAll these strong arm tactics
\nIts kind of breaks their heart<\/p>\n
There is no moderation no mildness anymore
\nIts just restraint and anger
\nAnd nobody is sure
\nHow these babies can adjust
\nTo an alien land of woe
\nAnd sadly they go down hill fast
\nAnd become sick as well we know<\/p>\n
Often they are in cages
\nOr on concrete every day
\nNo love around to comfort them
\nThey are on the edge lets say
\nA kind of dirty stockade
\nNo greenery to eat
\nBolted barred locked up slas
\nClose to a noisy street<\/p>\n
An alien land where madness reigns
\nIt be their future now
\nThe light is often artificial
\nDarkness yes and how
\nA real absence of colour
\nOf nature in the raw
\nImperceptibility
\nLike its never been before<\/p>\n
Elephants are thoughtful
\nImagine how they feel
\nLocked up in a concrete space
\nWhat does that reveal
\nA lack of curiosity
\nInertia from the start
\nApathetic they take no interest
\nYes it breaks their heart<\/p>\n
Neglected disregarded
\nNodody cares less
\nUntended and unheeded
\nYou can feel the stress
\nPigeonholed and mothballed

\nThey really seriously suffer

\nFor ele’s to fall ill
\nLove is what they yearn for
\nNot some brightly coloured pill
\nNot for bungling thickheads
\nTo look after their needs
\nIf we had any thought at all
\nWe know just where that leads<\/p>\n

\nSold off to the highest bidder
\nThe one who wants to pay
\nCITES And the so called caring officials
\nMake me sick
\nFor they have no true compassion
