Really we are very different
\nRabbits have short ears
\nAnd I
\nHave long ears with black tips
\nI am very different
\nAnd if you look into my eye<\/p>\n
Their eyes are dark mine is amber
\nWhen they run their tails
\nIn the air
\nWhen I run I run like the clappers
\nTail down I am very aware<\/p>\n
Rabbits build burrows
\nThey live underground
\nBut I live above all the time
\nThey are born blind
\nBut we can all see
\nThe field out ahead
\nAnd the sway of the tree<\/p>\n
I am a Hare a proud
\nEarthly soul
\nWith all sorts of names
\nBut you should see me go
\nI love the chickweed and
\nShepherds purse too
\nIts spicy in character
\nAnd good and true<\/p>\n
Since 2004
\nI am safer by far
\nFrom hunters and coarsers
\nWe know who they are
\nWretched vile blackguards
\nIntent on our end
\nIts like that in Eire
\nStill we must defend<\/p>\n
Our honour and run
\nLike the bright shooting star
\nAcross the heavens
\nHave to stay far
\nFar away from the
\nMen and their dogs
\nOr we shall
\nFind ourselves in a pie
\nWith a pint of dark ale<\/p>\n
