Wild and feral
\nChildren of the bush
\nSpectators who
\nDodge commercial hunters
\nLicensed good and true
\nHarvesters their pockets full of tags
\nTheir hearts on fire
\nIn the Mulga country
\nWhere the spirit world is dire<\/p>\n
Shooters all approved of course
\nAnd ecologists them to
\nWho each Adopt this new idea
\nOf humane dispatch

And what is all this killing for

\nThe experts calling them a plague
\nAnd the sheeps capacity
\nTo produce wool sadly lessened
\nBy the kangaroo we hear
\nAny excuse for more abuse
\nAnd the ramping up of fear<\/p>\n
And what about the hides the skins
\nThe market now in shoes
\nA precious soul must lose its life
\nWhat is there to lose
\nA truly iconic creature
\nTangible and proud
\nSacrificed for the beings
\nKnown as human
\nA most distasteful crowd<\/p>\n
And what about the flesh and bones
\nHigh in protein low in fat
\nAmino acids marketed by meat trade wallers
\nWhere are they at?
\nCompassionless their total lack of empathy
\nAnd care
\nPrepared to sacrifice the miracle of life
\nBorn there.<\/p>\n
Its all about their profits
\nNot a prophet to be found
\nExportIng meat to Europe
\nTO France and Germany bound
\nCountries full of animal flesh
\nWith no need for Kangaroo
\nIts a baseless groundless market
\nWithout foundation thats my view<\/p>\n
440,000 babies trampled on the ground
\nSquealing in the final throes
\nIn their own blood they are drowned
\nAnd this is seen a humane dispatch
\nBy the ministry men of war
\nHostile to the exclusiveness
\nWhat the miracle was for<\/p>\n
Each life could not be replicated
\nCreation’s gift to all
\nBludgeoned by the licensed hunters
\nReady and on call
\nHeartless soulless automatons
\nGiven a badge so they
\nCan forfeit their integrity
\nAnd make the mothers pay<\/p>\n
They talk up green house gases
\nAnd the need for feral kills
\nAt least 3.5 million
\nIts enough to give me chills
\nThese are iconic animals
\nFeatured on the livery
\nThe national airline displays them
\nIn the bush where they run free<\/p>\n
Its bedlam for these kangaroo’s
\nThere’s no order anymore
\nShot out of existence
\nReduced to blood and gore
\nThe tip of the iceberg
\nThe thin end of the wedge
\nA plague from so called farmers
\nFor them to now allege<\/p>\n
Is ominous and threatening
\nWith full on enmity
\nIts spiteful and uncharitable
\nWith severity
\nBloodthirsty its brutality
\nIll-wishing and ill-disposed
\nScoundrels bloody hatchet men
\nReally its exposed<\/p>\n
Instead of actual gratitude
\nAnd appreciativeness we see
\nMercilessness and relentlessness
\nAnd inexorability
\nThe uniqueness of spirit
\nThe dutifulness of now
\nThe intent of gruesome murder
\nIncreasing by the hour<\/p>\n
Where’s our total admiration?
\nOffering esteem
\nThe humbleness of marsupials
\nTheir devotion to their team
\nWhy arn’t we reverential
\nTo their plight admiring so
\nThe sense of responsibility
\nWhich in us all should grow<\/p>\n
Instead we call them plagues
\nAnd slaughter joeys with our boots
\nCrush their tiny beating hearts
\nInto the dusty roots
\nShoot their loving mothers
\nFor the hide That draws the blues
\nwho are happy to witness murder
\nAnd the skin used for our shoes<\/p>\n
To chomp into their bloody steaks
\nReady to pay the bill
\nSo corporates can clean up
\nAnd fill the hotel till
\nTo me what we are doing
\nIs injurious to all
\nIts corrupted by the wickednes
\nThat really does appal<\/p>\n
On my bended knee I say a prayer
\nFor the joey’s and their mums
\nFor the bankers and the traders
\nAll doing their sums

\nWith their tags and boots who now
