The sun had got his hat on
\non, Potten End green
\ntwo sprawling fields
\na truly undulating scene
\na steam fair, I could not
\nimagine, the place
\nso decided to go over
\nand just show my face.<\/p>\n
I drove in and paid
\nand drove down through the trees
\nand up on the hill
\nwhich for me, well did please
\nand entered a field
\nwhere the tanks and the trucks
\ncamouflage green
\ncosting quite a few bucks
\nno doubt, real old beauties
\nmade now to shine
\nproudly they stood
\nand all in a line<\/p>\n
a shire horse
\na big
\nhandsome soul
\nwith white mane
\nhe stood eating carrots
\nand looking vain
\nonto the fair
\na coconut shy
\na candy floss stall pink sticks
\nin the sky
\nhot greasy Do nuts
\ncholesterol and all
\nand an old bloke from Royston
\n“sit down lad” did bawl
\n“this is my furniture
\nand you could do
\nwith a rest I can see that
\nso sit down will you”
\nI did, it was kind of him
\nI sat a while
\nand exchanged some banter
\nfor he had some style<\/p>\n
a stunt man, a straight jacket
\nand he escaped
\nice creams and horses
\nand someone all taped up
\na great backdrop
\nof green trees and sky
\nsheep in a pen
\nwatching us lot walk by
\nHello I said to them
\nI’m a sheep too
\nborn in the year
\nthat sheep wander through
\nBarrr they exclaimed
\nI don’t drink I did say
\nBarrr they exclaimed
\nNo thanks not today
\nI wandered slowly
\nback to the car
\nthen back home to sit

after mentoring Gavin today I went over to the steam fair at Potten End there were placards up saying come and see the fair so I thought nice bright day I will go for a walk and do a poem on it, something different and some exercise thrown in for good measure, I spent nearly 2 hours there and caught the sun a bit.
