I was not there
\nBut have woken up
\nTo the carnage of that day
\nIt was swept into my psyche
\nLeaving us all to pay<\/p>\n
Regard to the heroism
\nAnd the hatred everywhere
\nI woke up screaming to myself
\nI was dreaming
\nthe nightmare<\/p>\n
I could see the vehicle
\nI could hear the pain
\nI could smell the burning
\nAs London went insane
\nAs ugliness and malevolence
\nRan down the innocent who
\nWere walking over London Bridge
\nAs so many do<\/p>\n
Ruptured of their happiness
\nAnd joy of being there
\nBroken crushed and suddenly
\nDrenched in vile despair
\nSirens
\nPanic
\nDanger
\nAll the impending might
\nI wasn’t there
\nBut this long nightmare
\nPlayed out again tonight<\/p>\n
The smell of blood
\nThe evil
\nThe ugliness, and those
\nTraitors on their killing spree
\nTheir pitilessness grows<\/p>\n
Their lack of any compassion
\nTheir grossness and their woe
\nI wasnt there
\nBut still could feel
\nThe spitefulness on show<\/p>\n
And to the response of people
\nShouting and shocked, such fear
\nWith the rhetoric of politicians
\nPlaying in my ear
\nThe madness of the moment
\nThe electioneering jibes
\nCondoling
\nAnd controlling any
\nWould be scribes<\/p>\n
Why all of this happened
\nExcuses overlaid
\nThe government all experts now
\nAnd the media who made
\nTheir way through this unruliness
\nThrough swamps of dread and fear
\nSound bites for the warring factions
\nPlaying in our ear<\/p>\n
The demise of many
\nHumanities golden rule
\nAlways blame each other
\nThe effing blinding pool
\nOf expletives and aspersions
\nOf indignity and grief
\nThrown into a proverbial pot
\nWhere the essence is relief<\/p>\n
And then ofcourse the reasons
\nThe lack of funding, we
\nSubmitted to these clouds of wrath
\nDescending perilously<\/p>\n
The melee of the migrant hordes
\nThe many identified
\nAs being a risk to freedom
\nGenerally denied
\nArgued about its funding
\nExcuses how they fly
\nSo much the wrongheadedness
\nAnd more of us will die<\/p>\n
It requires affirmative action
\nCurtail their warring spree
\nHeads they win
\nTails we lose
\nNo equality<\/p>\n
Woke up at 4.15 am this morning with the smell of carnage
\nWith the sight and sounds of London and had to get up
