In all of Africa and elsewhere
\nA more toxic place there is none where
\nLead and zinc were mined away
\nAnd from the tailings people pay
\nGenerations of children took
\nBlack mountain’s slag
\nIt kind of shook
\nTheir very being in every way
\nFor those that in the dust did play
\nAs children their bodies they became
\nWrecked for neurotoxins claim<\/p>\n
Resentment the severity
\nOf children as sick as they can be
\nIts intolerable to see a child
\nIts innocence really defiled
\nBy the churlish corporations who
\nShow no mercy and just do
\nTheir vile direction night and day
\nA curse to which all comers pay<\/p>\n
Heartlessness ruthlessness callously they
\nRemorselessly dragged out this lead to decay
\nThese metals are heavy and chaotically do
\nEnter the brain to damage and screw
\nOn into emotions and ability
\nTo learn and to turn and to yearn
\nAnd be free
\nTo atone and desire and ofcourse to create
\nAnd leave a vast chasm to humiliate<\/p>\n
Many would die long before they
\nBlindness and paralysis took them away
\nLead is insidious causing such pain
\nChildren were hidden away
\nThey the bane
\nOf their frantic parents
\nAnd still to this day
\nThe government is taking the
\nOld earth away<\/p>\n
The clean up is happening
\nBut once again
\nchildren are victims
\nCondemned without gain
\nNo compensation for a lifetime thats lost
\nNobody willing to stomp up the cost
\nArrogance caused this, corruption did too
\nThe transgression of ignorance
\nIt trickles through<\/p>\n
Still the most toxic of places around
\nBy mining for profit they destroyed the ground
\nAnd the nightmare was born
\nAll the anguish became
