This world of misadventure
\nWhere cruelty is rife
\nUnder the cover of distant lands
\nThe devil weilds his knife
\nTo the hurtfulness and the detriment
\nOf children of the world
\nBright buttons of imagination
\nWho in spitefulness are hurled<\/p>\n
The wickedness of corporations
\nWhose wretched villainous schemes
\nSinister and delusional
\nThe stuff of our bad dreams
\nObnoxious and injurious
\nDeleterious to all
\nWho quietly from their boardroom darkness
\nHellishly appal.<\/p>\n
The giants and the minions
\nFarming fraternities
\n500,000 family farms
\nAnd the children too
\nThey seize
\nTobacco is the chosen crop
\nThe addictive one of old
\nCultivating and harvesting
\nWhat has becone green gold<\/p>\n
From 8 years they are at it
\nWorking every day
\nFertilising each plant plug
\nWatered by hand they pay
\nA high price for their poverty
\nPicking and bundling too
\nIt really is slave labour
\nBut all that they can do<\/p>\n
Indonesia sees children
\nReally at the brink
\nHandling this noxious plant
\nMore than people think
\nDisadvantaged underfed
\nCrying out to play
\nBut having to help their parents
\nEvery single day<\/p>\n
A desertion of dignity
\nA truancy to learn
\nResigned to real hard labour
\nUnder the sun they burn
\nRelinquishing their status
\nAs children to become
\nWithdrawn defective cast offs
\nHurting badly some<\/p>\n
Suffering from symptoms
\nThe poisoning that does
\nLeach into their precious skins
\nThe dizziness the buzz
\nThe confusion the nausea
\nThe vomiting and more
\nChildren smile
\nBut all the while
\nThey are ruining their core<\/p>\n
And really what is it all about
\nAn industry that kills
\nAddictive from the beginning
\nDeliberately it spills
\nThe blood and snot of adherents
\nWho suck into their souls
\nThe nicotine and ugliness
\nThat anyway controls<\/p>\n
Through a pathway to our breathing
\nComes this noxious burning smoke
\nThat soon becomes a ritual
\nAn addiction that will soak
\nDeep into our tissues lodging
\nIn our fat and lean
\nComplete indoctrination
\nAnd now wholly obscene<\/p>\n
For it not only kills the farmers
\nBut the smokers too who feel
\nThat their minds their own
\nBut it isnt
\nAs science does reveal
\nThe irreversibilty
\nOf the multi layered smoke
\nThe perversity of feeling
\nThat you kind of want to choke<\/p>\n
These very same conditions
\nAre felt by children who
\nHandle the tobacco
\nAnd really suffer too
\nThrowing up their acidic bile
\nTheir bloodshot eyes on fire
\nAnd they are just handling the leaves
\nAnd it makes their existence dire<\/p>\n
Governments have known this
\nKnown the implications
\nBut taken taxes and turned away
\nOffering salutations
\nEmpty baseless corruptive schemes
\nTo prolong the agony
\nMany ministers are shareholders
\nIn the tobacco industry<\/p>\n
We must not forget the pesticides
\nMade up and of course sprayed
\nNo one reads the lsbels
\nSo on them all its laid
\nThe most toxic organophosphatez
\nCausing cancer and most know
\nDamaging chromosomal health
\nAnd really how they grow<\/p>\n
Dangerous to their being
\nTo their reproductive health
\nDamaging their sperm counts
\nReally there is a weakth
\nOf knowledgevout there significantly
\nThe EVILs are immense
\nBut still children On the front line
\nAre working which makes no sense<\/p>\n
And many of the common brands
\nAre caught up in this trade
\nTheir coffers full to heaving
\nSuch sophistry us laid
\nOpen to the public but no one seems tob see
\nThe agony and the torture
\nOf the children now who be<\/p>\n
Contrary to reason a sickly suffering breed
\nMislead from the offset
\nLetting advertising lead
\nPeople diwn the wrong path
\nTo a place if utter hell
\nWhere choking becomes the normal thing
\nAnd just not breathing well<\/p>\n
Seeing children puking
\nCross legged on the ground
\nHeaving theur heads aching
\nThe siclevman around
\nTo whisk off to death before
\nTheir precious timewhere they
\nMight vomit blood and sinew
\nAnd be in the worst dismay<\/p>\n
Another reason to give up smoking altogether
