\nFrom the chocolate business
\nAnd that is very clear
\nMost cacao comes from Africa

\nMost of the corporate buyers go

There is not enough soul-searching
\nThe responsibility
\nFor getting children out of the trade
\nAnd back into schools to me
\nShows there is disinterest
\nA certain meanness here
\nIts wicked to get children working
\nWith the aid of fear<\/p>\n
The profit margins clearly
\nAre high and therefore we
\nJust must ensure the workers
\nGet their pay cheques constantly
\nKnowing children are working
\nBut forgetting to write that down
\nActually shows some villainy
\nAbounds and tends to drown
\nout the true endeavour
\nChild labour girls and boys
\nKidnapped from their villages
\nWith quite a lot of noise<\/p>\n
People know but look the other way
\nIt semms to me
\nWhich lets off all these corporates
\nWhose profits seem to be
\nThrough the roof and still they
\nCovetously display
\nA scandalous performance
\nOn ethics come what may<\/p>\n
Children do love chocolate
\nIn the west most peoplec eat
\nabout 11 kilos a year
\nSo no mean feat
\nGirls and boys are about the same
\nAnd of the total sales
\nThe europeans eat half
\nOf all thats produced
\nWhich kind of pales<\/p>\n
Into some significance
\nWhen In India they eat
\nOnly 1\/2 a pound a year
\nAnd in China the elite
\nPerhaps half of that
\nSo its the USA and Europe
\nTnat are what this trades about
\nAnd the children of Africa are suffering
\nAnd thats without a doubt<\/p>\n
Generally the chocolate people
\nAt trade shows in Cologne
\nThink child labour isnt really very much
\nThe bone
\nOf contention there for me
\nIs its all about high sales
\nAnd there are so many children
\nSlave children and their tales<\/p>\n
Are very grim and frightening
\nThe immorality
\nRemember these are innocent souls
\nWho are corrupted actually
\nTransgressions of this magnitude
\nOught be policed and show
\nIts base line criminality
\nAnd consumers ought to know<\/p>\n
Wide eyed saintly cherubs
\nTaken far away
\nTo work as slaves in hot plantations
\nForever without pay
\nBack breaking work
\nThe bruises the wounds
\nThat manifest
\nAnd spraying organophosphates
