What is so sad about just what has happened
\nIs the previous owner who established this place
\nWould have died rather than killed his precious old animals
\nHe made himself ill and lost his precious base
\nWhen he sold it all over
\nTo the Lionsgate Sanctuary
\nThe two owners must have been so aware
\nOf what it had meant to the previous owner
\nAnd that they killed the animals
\nCreating despair<\/p>\n
It seems they went through hell and high water
\nAfter 2007 when they took charge
\nIt was clearly difficult raising the money
\nThe bill for feeding them clearly was large
\nDespite floods and no other income to speak of
\nTen years is still a long time to go on
\nKilling them though is just not on the table
\nThere should have been options
\nBut now they are gone<\/p>\n
To say moving disabled and old souls would kill them
\nWell you went and killed them in situ so why
\nJust because you are old doesnt mean you are slaughtered
\nLife is still precious so why should they die
\nThis is a refuge and you would do the best
\nFor invalids surely not put them to death
\nLook into their eyes and give them the needle
\nDeny all those old friends the ultimate breath<\/p>\n
One cannot appreciate really the problems
\nHow the emotions played on them that day
\nBeing turned down from moving the animals
\nWhich to my mind says they could have been moved
\nAnyway
\nSo why not take up other sanctuary offers
\nWhat happened to the bones of the animals who
\nThe lions and the tigers their bones would be
\nHigh priced
\nShipped over to China we know that is true<\/p>\n
But according to reports they all have been buried
\nSomewhere in the refuge and the council agrees
\nNo laws have been broken and that is the end of it
\nBut now a petition hopes to appease
\nThose who believe that something is fishy
\nAnd both of the partners should be sent off to jail
\nAll of the animals came from previous cruelty
\nSo at least had a life but its a tragic tale<\/p>\n
The previous owner had said on record
\nEuthanazia is not an option
\nUnless really they start the process with me
\nSince that was well known its hard that the owners
\nWould resort to such action
\nHow could it be?<\/p>\n
Whatever happens all death is final
\nAnd these LIONS and TIGERs and BEARS
\nHad to pay
\nThey took the can
\nFor whatever happened
