In 2006 Peter Benchley died
\nRegretting his book had caused such a devide
\nThe great White Shark he had written about
\nWas A fictional character without a doubt
\nBut alas for the sharks the film and the book
\nGot hold of the psyche of man and it shook
\nIt out of reality and into the realm
\nOf horror and terror with him at the helm<\/p>\n
He was beside himself that he had effectively caused
\nSuch an unholy change and if only he had paused
\nPrior to writing it he would have done so
\nAs his want to protect them thereafter did grow
\n100 million sharks are killed every year
\nCompared to sharks killing us which is so clear
\n12 or so victims just 12 which is true
\nMistaken identity the common view<\/p>\n
Shark finning murders 11417 each hour
\nUnbelievable agony and that is true now
\nFor soup for the Chinese gelatinous gruel
\nMade of chicken stock that breaks every rule
\nFrank Mundus caught his shark in 1964
\nJAWS Was written 10 years later and whats more
\nWhen the film hit the world one year later he knew
\nWhat he had done to the sharks which was always his view<\/p>\n
They may never recover and of course he was right
\nFor The book and the film caused a terrible slight
\nIt just put the wind up so many it seems
\nPeople hearing the music today have bad dreams!
\nIf the shark were a human be sure they would be
\nAfter killing us all for the figures you see
\nOf what we do to them is so out of hand
\nThat Nobody anywhere could understand<\/p>\n
But those are the figures human deaths very few
\nIn reality people you know what to do
\nBe clear with yourself sharks are predators and they
\nWant seals not surfers thats the ocean way
\nThey want the blubber it sustains their need
\nIf they wanted us the figures would lead
\nJAWS was pure fiction the author said that
\nSo Respect him and realise where he was at<\/p>\n
