The Lilacs are all a flourish
\nAs are the chestnuts, they
\nWith their candle blossoms
\nAre welcoming each day
\nThe copper beech
\nAt last its leaves
\nHave exciting colour
\nThat achieves
\nA rhapsody for wintry eyes.
\nStill laden down with hot frost pies
\nNo rain to speak of
\nBut the cost
\nIs even in may
\nSome morning frost<\/p>\n
The spring bulbs came and went
\nWe know
\nThe dandelions this year
\nDid glow
\nThe blue bells felt the hailstones
\nAnd
\nThe little lambs didn’t understand
\nNow its Beltaine so they say
\nBehold the so called first of May
\nThe may poles phallic feel is here
\nMaidens clad in ribbons cheer
\nThe heart for certain that they do
\nBut despite that
\nIts a cold one too<\/p>\n
Rivers have dried up
\nAnd they say
\nhose pipe bans
\nAre on the way
\nBale fires burning
\nSo that we
\nCan thaw out
\nAnd now hopefully<\/p>\n
Realise that Summers come
\nMay blossom was early
\nRule of thumb
\nsharing the rollright symphony
\nThe ancestral strength
\nAppears to me
\nIts the knowledge of justice
\nAnd the love of it we
\nAs druids beyond all else
\nCan see<\/p>\n
