{"id":32957,"date":"2017-04-29T21:00:27","date_gmt":"2017-04-29T21:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=32957"},"modified":"2017-04-29T21:09:46","modified_gmt":"2017-04-29T21:09:46","slug":"it-could-only-be-england","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/04\/it-could-only-be-england\/","title":{"rendered":"It could only be England"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Blue Bells and hailstones<br \/>\nThe realness attested<br \/>\nThe dandelions roared<br \/>\nWith their confident smile<br \/>\nWithout being negative<br \/>\nThe Hawthorn threw blossom<br \/>\nScented and gorgeous<br \/>\nMile after mile<\/p>\n<p>With the fae in the meadows<br \/>\nThe clocks ticking quietly<br \/>\nThe breeze sends them flying<br \/>\nWhen they settle they know<br \/>\nWhat is the right place<br \/>\nAnd they sleep soundly<br \/>\nTill next spring awakens them<br \/>\nAnd they do grow<\/p>\n<p>Beltaine is upon us<br \/>\nThe showers known as April<br \/>\nFailed to come calling<br \/>\nAnd rivers are dry<br \/>\nBut we have seen hailstones<br \/>\nThey flattened my bluebells<br \/>\nThat sprang from the orchestra pits<br \/>\nAnd did fly<\/p>\n<p>The clematis crawls up the wall<br \/>\nBudding rapidly<br \/>\nSending its blossoms of scent everywhere<br \/>\nJack has been naughty still flexing his muscles<br \/>\nA bit like the slugs my young plants their hors d&#8217;oeuvre<br \/>\nThe blossom this year is sparse on my cherry<br \/>\nI pruned it too hard and has it lost its nerve<\/p>\n<p>Frost,Jack his whimsical games have upset me<br \/>\nBurnt off some blossom reminding me he<br \/>\nHas the creativeness and innovation<br \/>\nAnd my salvation and genuinely<br \/>\nFrom his supremacy imparts the ermine<br \/>\nUndoing unfastening loosening, he<br \/>\nHas come to remind us the whole composition<br \/>\nThe dancers subscribe to his choreography<\/p>\n<p>Put up the mapole tie in the ribbons<br \/>\nDance with each other hearts singing aloud<br \/>\nCome to the ritual the unbroken order<br \/>\nA bite of the cherry lets do what we vowed<br \/>\nLet love move the spirit lets be what we hoped to be<br \/>\nFeel all that life force the verdure of Spring<br \/>\nThe coming together of the fae and desiring<br \/>\nThe magical  beauty the eternal ring<\/p>\n<p>Each morning&#8217;s dawning a chorus of singing<br \/>\nOf bringing the birdsong to the first blush of day<br \/>\nA rose fingered dawn with a splash of excitement<br \/>\nMaybe the first cuckoo or the second or third<br \/>\nIs heard loud and clear as song birds fly away<\/p>\n<p>I in the winter of life feel the spring in my step<br \/>\nFeel the fervour deep in my soul<br \/>\nThough maybe i shant dance up  at the maypole<br \/>\nI can still remember, when my heart had a role<br \/>\nIn the dance with the lass whom i still do hold dearly<br \/>\nMy youth may have left but sincerely I know<br \/>\nSweet thoughts of love they will never leave me<br \/>\nLike summer The Sunlight is part of the show<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Blue Bells and hailstones The realness attested The dandelions roared With their confident smile Without being negative The Hawthorn threw blossom Scented and gorgeous Mile after mile With the fae in the meadows The clocks ticking quietly The breeze sends &hellip;
