Fresh water and green grass

\nthe verdure of the day
\nIts what commands respect in Wilderbeest
\nWhose real dismay
\nThe herds emaciated from the numbers

They feel this last great challenge
\nIs the mighty Mara and they
\nMust leap and swim across it to the
\nGreen fields o’re the way
\nThe vultures know the score
\nAs well and the giant croc’s who wait
\nAlso feeling very hungry
\nBut all looking sedate
\nThey know deep in their souls
\nThat some will weaken at the fight
\nAnd will break their backs and limbs
\nAnd just get washed away in flight<\/p>\n
Wildebeest and zebras converge
\nTheir stress we see
\nAll have the realization
\nAnd the possibility
\nOf fording this great river
\nEssentially to find
\nThat Paradise that each one wants
\nand has now locked
\nIn their mind<\/p>\n
That pre existing dream
\nThe sun the sky the green
\nWhat is substantiality
\nIts where they all have been
\nBefore its really with them
\nThey have to act as one
\nThis massive herd of thousands
\nWhen the day is done<\/p>\n
The phenomenol physical vista
\nThe lifes blood of them all
\nTheir backbones and their marrow
\nAnd the constitution call
\nOne leaps another joins him
\nSo it is underway
\nThe crashing dashing smashing
\nOf the hooves and horns that say<\/p>\n
Hundreds thousands falling
\nAnd swimming for their lives
\nEach emaciated from the lack of food

\nLifeless by the time they hit the water

Like thunder hooves a thrashing
\nAs the crocodiles move in
\nVultures watching on the opposite bank

\nThe army now are swimming
\nThe current holding sways
\nAs younger animals caught up in the melee

Eyes bulging out of their sockets

\nSuch a huge crescendo what is it now they do
\nTheir union is broken
\nThey are being washed away
\nAll of them together

That Panic was electric
\nIn the ascendancy
\nThe race now on to transcend the fight
\nAnd hope to be
\nNo body seen as a friend
\nIts fight like hell to free
\nEach is on their own course
\nEach now has to be
\nNone of them can be denied
\nTheir only course of action
\nNow to reach the other side<\/p>\n
Surpassing all this hellish stuff
\nThis blood lust That does flow
\nFighting back the collective angst
\nThat clearly now does grow
\nA crescendo into storming
\nEach raising its game
\nAdvancing in a frantic flood
\nOf each making their claim<\/p>\n
And all the while big eyes are watching
\nThe predators on fire
\nWho cant wait to leap and tear a’sunder
\nThe bodies all so dire
\nAnd still more come
\nAnd still more leap
\nAnd still more fall and they
\nRealise their injuries
\nAnd that today is not their day<\/p>\n
The great clash the convergence
\nThe assembly of souls
\nCompacted now by circumstance
\nEach hopeful that their goals
\nThrown together
\nEmbracing pain
\nShoulder to shoulder
\nThey will gain<\/p>\n
The upper hand
\nThey have to now
\nFlailing legs
\nThis is how
\nIt has to be fight the good fight
\nWedge and clinch
\nAnd clamp and bite<\/p>\n
Shackle fettle chain and hoop
\nChaos as the hungry swoop
\nCrushing jaws and blood lust flow

\nAs well we know
\nScramble twist and share away
\nIn the turmoil of the day
\nRumpus rough and tumble gang
\nDisarranged ready to hang

Sliding back into the water

\nLike Armageddon

There are victims

\nCroc’s new token
\nBut many see the struggle and
\nHave actually infact made land<\/p>\n
The green grass beckons
\nthe water too
\nThe multitude has made it through
\nTo the sulight and the dream

\nClearly their cards had been dealt

\nThey all made out

The womb of time had set its course
\nThey had been a frightful force
\nA flush of youth they all had come
\nThrough it hearts beating like a drum
\nThe vulnerability they all shared
\nThey had together upped and dared
\nWeakness debility staying power
\nSurvivability on the hour<\/p>\n
The manifestation
\nThe unfolding light
\nGrassy meadows
\nWithin their sight
\nHeaven on earth
\nIt was all here
\nAn exhuberance
\nFree of fear
\nA great outpouring
\nOf fluency
