Where did We come from?
\nThat would be saying
\nTen million years ago
\nIts a long time
\nThere are paleontologists
\nHoping to tell you
\nAnd for once in our lives
\nSome one’s written a rhyme.<\/p>\n
We may have originally
\nBeen from the ocean
\nSalt water possibly was our embrace
\nBut now its the fresh water
\nWhere we are staying
\nThe mighty great Amazon
\nIs in our face<\/p>\n
We are designed for the rivers
\nWe dwell in
\nShallow and varying depths
\nCan occur
\nWe see with sound
\nWith our eco location
\nAnd Pectoral fins help us to weave around<\/p>\n
As to our colour
\nAge holds the influence
\nBattle scars
\nWounds create the stronger
\nhue
\nThe more fights We get in
\nThe more wounds We suffer
\nThe pinker We get
\nAnd that is a clue<\/p>\n
Humans are coming into
\nOur location
\nEating more fish
\nAnd pollution of course
\nWe do not have predators
\nNothing to speak of
\nFood really everywhere
\nHere’s where the source<\/p>\n
Is we are really
\nnow in the thick of it
\nBut its the pollution
\nthats Making us feel
\nOur race is declining
\nAnd we are resigning
\nSolitary mammals
\nWith so much appeal<\/p>\n
In our wildest dreams
\nFrom the east we had cometh
\nPerhaps Pakistan
\nResourcefully we
\nWalked on the land and then
\nGot back to the water
\nWere chased up some river
\nAway from the sea<\/p>\n
Creative and lively
\nInventive and whimsical
\nWe were the sea fae
\nThe legendary one
\nWe found the Amazon
\nForest and river
\nA basis of wonderment
