\nWhen the day is done
\nCreation is the mother
\nOf inventions we can say
\nAmazing productivity
\nThey just blow us away<\/p>\n
Instinctive and pre programmed
\nSecretely coded sense
\nSuch fervour and intensity
\nNo sitting on the fence
\nVirile and full blooded
\nCorrosive to a tee
\nInfluenced by no one
\nTheir sphere of influence all see<\/p>\n
They truly are the super power
\nKingmakers they be
\nAn alien force manoeuvering
\nPrevailing constantly
\nHypnotic in their purpose
\nMemeric in their deed
\nThey can carry 100 times
\nTheir weight
\nAnd they always succeed<\/p>\n
They can run almost forever
\nTheir need is food and they
\nKnow their obligation
\nAnd have worked out a way
\nTo overpower what ever
\nAnd carry it home for tea
\nTo neutralize the problem
\nAnd defend purposefully<\/p>\n
Just one single colony
\nEats ten million insects they
\nCompared to lions and wolves
\nConsume much more meat each day
\nThey squirt their formic acid guns
\nAnd with mandibles on fire
\nAttack all comers vehemently
\nTill the only word is dire<\/p>\n
If a bear should come a calling
\nAnd break into their mound
\nThere is no more concerted effort

\nThey also do some farming
\nIn rainforests where they
\nUse mealybugs to collect
\nThe sap
\nFlocks of them soon pay<\/p>\n
The ants afford protection
\nAnd receive the sugary store
\nAnd Their avid consternation
\nSees rewards galore
\nOther ants a wily kind
\nThe campernotis they
\nHave worked with the sarracenia
\nThe pitcher plants
\nWho pay
\nAttention to these little ants
\nWho are able to crawl
\nAround the trumpet without falling in
\nAnd can answer, the call<\/p>\n
With their intimate relationship
\nThey are able to assist
\nBy swimming in the digestive juice
\nAnd thereby they enlist
\nMore insects to come calling
\nDrawn by the heavenly smell
\nAnd falling into their watery grave
\nThat the pitcher provides so well<\/p>\n
Weaver ants are remarkable
\nTheir grip is beyond compare
\nNo astronaut alive could cope
\nWith the centrifuge or share
\n100 times force of gravity
\nWould tear a man apart
\nBut ants can do it easily
\nFor them its just the start<\/p>\n
There are no more successful insects
\nThan the ant states for they are
\nShowing immense diversity
\nIn many ways they are a far
\nAnd away a more able society
\nThey have the wherefor all
\nEvolutionary transitions
\nWith a communication pool<\/p>\n
Tremendous specialization
\nCoordination rules
\nEach ant knows what it must do
\nThe maxim clearly calls
\nSuper efficient working styles
\nArchitecturally
\nbuilders trained and ready
\nTo work effectively<\/p>\n
A chemical guidance system
\nOperates throughout
\nA unity and a wholeness
\nIs what its all about
\nA singleness of purpose
\nNo ego in the way
\nThe populous must benefit
\nThe teeming hordes display<\/p>\n
The most destructive force for them
\nIs fire
\nBut when its used
\nperhaps out on the pampas
\nThey will boil and be abused
\nBut carry on their service
\nProgrammed to be free
\nTo be sent into a chaos
\nBy the true adversity<\/p>\n
And their chemical trail destruction
\nThey automatically
\nRe-establish chemical trails
\nAnd follow them and be
\nAble to establish pathways once again
\nWith the weight of pre intelligence
\nThreading through each vein<\/p>\n
They have much in their arsenal
\nAnd their life force is immense
\nIts as if they have specific chips
\nFor their knowledge is intense
\nTheir foraging skills are miraculous
\nTheir building skills are too
\nThey have chimneys and they have ventilation
\nA megalopols come true<\/p>\n
Everything is thought out
\nOf their structured city state
\nSpecial chamber gardens
\nThey do excavate
\nTons and tons of earth
\nAnd there is nothing anywhere
\nThey are an organising super power
\nOf aliens who share<\/p>\n
We could learn a lot from them
\nOf prejudice and hate
\nThey operate as a multitude

\nTheir miracles together
