\nThis zoo long ago
\nBack before I was born
\nAnd now some 1300 animals
\nHave to live there torn
\nOut of their natural environment
\nAnd taken to be there for good
\nBut rarely are zoo’s that effective
\nAt doing what they really should<\/p>\n
Its a compromise thats pure and simple
\nAnd a business will never succeed
\nReally whats fitting for assorted species
\nIs care and trained staff to the need
\nAnimals need full attention
\nComing from all parts of the world
\nArturo from the cold and kept in the heat
\nReally just where he was hurled<\/p>\n
Baking in heat where morality flies
\nIn the face of creation each day
\nEthicality suffers its patently wrong
\nWrongheadedness i have to say
\nAn arrogance born from their ignorance
\nAnd misjudgement that really is cruel
\nWild animals forced into tiny cramped cages
\nIs surely the wirk of the fool<\/p>\n
Its no labour of love for the people
\nAnd its hell for the animals there
\nNot understanding their habitats surely
\nIs why so many see despair
\nAnd angst and anxiety calling
\nIts a prison for them anyway
\nNo water in the hottest conditions
\nOvercrowding too and so they pay<\/p>\n
World wide petitions for arturo
\nBut ignored by the zoo even so
\nHe should have been taken to somwhere much colder
\nBut the zoo said they he should be on show
\nClearly the bear was distrssed all the time
\nIn a dirty old pool with no toys
\nNeglected all dayand no where to lay
\nOut of the sun so no joys<\/p>\n
Its clear trip adviser is showing
\nSeveral vile statements about
\nThe total inadequacy of the all pens
\nWhich really left nothing to doubt
\nIts far from a sanctuary status
\nIts animal rights issues are
\nClearly a matter if importance
\nWith no one we could call a tzar<\/p>\n
To oversee kinndness to animals
\nTo see they have adequate meals
\nWater when ever and lots of endeavour
\nTo answer the constant appeals
\nStaff to be on hand at all times
\nBased around compassion and care
\nNot thrown in cages all cramped up and dirty
\nThat cause each if them much despair<\/p>\n
You cant run a profitable business
\nWith live animals it isnt fair
\nIf people dont come through the turnstiles
\nAnd the zoo staff are so not aware
\nAnimals have to be fed well
\nTheir anxiety rises each day
\nLocked in their cages kept there for ages
\nWith their home probably so far away<\/p>\n
MEndoza zoo now needs closing
\nIts immoral to run things this way
\nUnder the heat it is wrongful
\nMaking the prisoners pay
\nSickness is rife in the compound
\nMalingerers clearly perform
\nBadly and sadly the animals
\nMost of them live in a storm<\/p>\n
Where’s the integrity
\nSomeone must know
\nThe moral fibre
\nThe too and fro
\nThe conscientiousness
\nThe candour too
\nThe principled reasoning
\nBehind this zoo<\/p>\n
Being gawped at and teased
\nBy the children
\nIts degrading and causes them fear
\nWith no exercise they all suffer
\nIts iniquitous to keep them here
\nTheir duty of care it is missing
\nAnd not enough staff to give care
\nAnd the zoo disinclined to improve things
\nThough the visitors are clearly aware<\/p>\n
Feedback is grossly neglected
\nARgentina must stand and be seen
\nCruelty of all of these animals
\nReally it is now obscene
\nThey are afterall really the voiceless
\nAnd without the order they will
\nSuffer the chaos and negiigent threats
\nThat are bound alas now to spill<\/p>\n
As takings go down so the food quality
\nIs likely to suffer and that cannot be
\nAnimals must get their portions right
\nAnd it doesnt make sense to eat too late at night
\nMEndoza Zoo is letting the side
\nDown I accept this
\nAnd there’s no place to hide
\nFor a bear or a Lion
\nWho must lay in the heat
\nWithout water or care
\nAnd some quality meat<\/p>\n
Clearly its well beyond its sell by date
\nThe training is poor and the staff
\nAre not great
\nThe cages too small
\nAnd the pens cramped and old
\nThey are either too hot
\nOr wet and cold
\nMEndoza needs closing
\nAnd, right away
\nIts an insult for caring
