The philosophy of existence
\nApparently extends
\nTo catching hordes of horseshoe crabs
\nCalling them our friends
\nAbusing them entirely
\nBy removing from them blood
\nIts of the bluest colour
\nA cerulean flood<\/p>\n
And why would science do this
\nTo a creature that has been
\nAround this world for ever
\nThe biomedical scene
\nAt least a half a million
\nAre tortured in this way
\nFor once taken it turns to jelly
\nAnd the medics then they say<\/p>\n
It forms a barrier a special barrier
\nAgainst bacteria and so
\nE coli found in insulin
\nIs protected so we know
\nKnee replacements and scalpels
\nCan all be sanitised
\nUsed to detect gram negative
\nAnd as such is highly prized<\/p>\n
These amazing prehistoric creatures
\nShared seas with dinosaurs
\n440 million years of experience
\nLets pause
\nLonger than the cockroach by 130 million years
\nThe great sham lie of the moon landing
\nUsed there it appears
\nWiping down the surfaces imagine thats the need
\nAbuse another horseshoe crab make the critter bleed<\/p>\n
Many more are ground up now
\nAs fertiliser, we
\nAre arrogant as the day is long
\nIn how we hope to be
\nBait for eels and conch
\nFor evil fishermen who say
\nYou cant do better than
\nUse them and they use them everyday<\/p>\n
After the mass extinction
\nWhen the greatest souls around
\nWere finished off these humble souls
\nSomehow went to ground
\nThey battled through an ice age
\nBut its man un kind who might
\nTake their precious bodies and their blood
\nAnd it just feel right!<\/p>\n
As for vegans we must realise
\nThat every injection made
\nIs using the blood of horseshoe crabs
\nIts become the miracle aid
\nDespite their so called intelligence
\nStill up to this day
\nThey are bleeding crabs of their precious blood
\nAnd then throwing them away<\/p>\n
NEptune I call on Neptune
\nThe god who rules the sea
\nTo realise that man un kind
\nIs a bastard actually
\nThese medics doing experiments
\nOn animals should be
\nReminded that creation
\nKnows the score and holds the key<\/p>\n
They say they do return the crabs
\nBut with half their blood away
\nMany die a slow death
\nAnd get washed up so they say
\nOn beaches over 1\/2 a million
\nIt is a massive lot
\nThis 10 eyed blue blooded ancient
\nLeft in the sun to rot<\/p>\n
In fact they are not crabs at all
\nMore spiders of the sea
\nSurviving the PErmian Period
\nTruthfully, for me
\nThis ugly nasty experimental stuff
\nThats all hush hush
\nDressed up in white coats and smiling nurses
\nTruly in the flush<\/p>\n
Of humanity down the lavatory pan
\nAnd then out to the sea
\nWe are a bunch of losers
\nOur experiments actually
\nDo not amount to much apart
\nFrom torture all the way
\nHorse shoe crabs are victims
\nWho quietly have to pay<\/p>\n
I beg you think more kindly of the animals
\nWho have to be raped experimented upon and slaughtered
