I was five and so was she

\nLaid eggs all around their run

She loved the chickens I had ten
\nThey pecked a lot even when
\nI fed them my dad taught me to
\nFind wild plants To try and woo
\nWe went out holding hands all curls
\nMy mum only wanted girls
\nAnd I was a boy so I had long hair

I was different from the other boys
\nI didnt have a lot of toys
\nMy dad kept chickens and taught me too

So introducing julie to the chickens
\nShe was struck
\nAnd foraging for wild plants
\nOther Boys were YUCK!

\nI had locks of flowing hair
\nAnd knew about the countryside

Julie and I were inseparable

\nI taught her how to collect the eggs
