{"id":32566,"date":"2017-03-29T11:59:36","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T11:59:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=32566"},"modified":"2017-03-29T12:16:13","modified_gmt":"2017-03-29T12:16:13","slug":"swamplands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2017\/03\/swamplands\/","title":{"rendered":"Swamplands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Flood control fish protection<br \/>\nCarbon storage and water purification<br \/>\nWild life habitats truthfully<br \/>\nAre this planets real salvation<br \/>\nThe indigenous guardian peoples<br \/>\nIdentified this, they<br \/>\nTook on the task of giving<br \/>\nTo the environment each day<\/p>\n<p>Slow moving stagnant waters<br \/>\nNear lakes and rivers they<br \/>\nAre of low property value<br \/>\nBut ecologically they pay<br \/>\nConsiderably to the equilibrium<br \/>\nThats around today<br \/>\nAnd  Louisiana holds great worth<br \/>\nWhatever people say<\/p>\n<p>A swamp is a forested wet land<br \/>\nA unique place to be<br \/>\nIndigenous and migratory wildlife<br \/>\nLive safely and live free<br \/>\nTall cypresses and palms exist<br \/>\nAnd BIGFOOT its said too<br \/>\nHas been seen at HONEY Island<br \/>\nAnd some believe its true<\/p>\n<p>Racoons minks and wild cats<br \/>\nTend to pull the traps<br \/>\nThe wilderness is a crazy place<br \/>\nWith  phantom hairy wraps<br \/>\nHanging from the branches<br \/>\nRootless Spanish Moss<br \/>\nSone have called it tree hair<br \/>\nAnd also  types of moss<\/p>\n<p>Lying quietly all about<br \/>\nA prehistoric soul<br \/>\nOlive green grey sentinels<br \/>\nWith their deft control<br \/>\nAlligators love marshmallows<br \/>\nAs the locals know<br \/>\nThey be sweet and fluffy<br \/>\nAnd significantly though<br \/>\nBut They really are intelligent<br \/>\nHiding as they do<br \/>\nUsing their natural camouflage<br \/>\nTo disappear from view<\/p>\n<p>Honey Island  the second largest<br \/>\nSwamp around today<br \/>\nDelta&#8217;s dams smaller canals<br \/>\nBayou&#8217;s are the way<br \/>\nA stillness and a peacefulness<br \/>\nTo actually allay<\/p>\n<p>Those who had imagined<br \/>\nThe errie atmosphere<br \/>\nReally there was much to do<br \/>\nIf staying it was clear<br \/>\nanimals were present<br \/>\nFishes present to<br \/>\nTrappers after game to sell<br \/>\nDo what murderers do<\/p>\n<p>Swamps are precious places<br \/>\nTo kayak through the bayou&#8217;s<br \/>\nBring you closer to real life<br \/>\nWhich has to be real good news<br \/>\nA Remote and deserted haven afterall<br \/>\nFor rodents and for reptiles<br \/>\nThe  whole world<br \/>\nTo enthrall<\/p>\n<p>Cajun and American First People<br \/>\nHave lived in harmony<br \/>\nClose to the earth and water<br \/>\nThan ever you and me<br \/>\nWho eat and sleep for swamp days<br \/>\nIts in their very aoul<br \/>\nAnd with all these major swamps about<br \/>\nThe planet Has kept control<\/p>\n<p>In Iraq a certain Azzam Alwash<br \/>\nWent back there<br \/>\nto see<br \/>\nAnd got people to help him<br \/>\nWith Saddam Hussain a plea<br \/>\nto drain the swamp<br \/>\nReplacing it with rubble<br \/>\nWhich he denied<br \/>\nHe totally destroyed the trees<br \/>\nand the habitat inside<br \/>\nWhich now has been returned to life<br \/>\nBy a little thought we see<br \/>\nThe habitat returning<br \/>\nTo its true glory<\/p>\n<p>They really are priceless areas<br \/>\nGiving back so much<br \/>\nAll sorts of partly submerged trees<br \/>\nSo close that one can touch<br \/>\nPeople have tried to drain the swamps<br \/>\nBut its not a good  idea<br \/>\nThe wetlands are impressive places<br \/>\nAnd its essential that they are here.<\/p>\n<p>This planet values all its areas<br \/>\nThey all provide for a wealth of creatures<br \/>\nAnd man should live up to his name<br \/>\nAnd remain kind to them all.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flood control fish protection Carbon storage and water purification Wild life habitats truthfully Are this planets real salvation The indigenous guardian peoples Identified this, they Took on the task of giving To the environment each day Slow moving stagnant waters &hellip;
