\nAs wild birds go we see
\nA great deal of the planet
\nAnd the changes now that be<\/p>\n
From the Chutotsk Peninsula
\nTo the Isthmus
\nFrom North East Russia
\nJApan NOrth and South Korea
\nCHina Hong Kong Taiwan
\nInto Vietnam and Thailand
\nBAngladesh and Myanmar
\nOur fear<\/p>\n
Being hunted shot at
\nWe winter now in China
\nIn Guang Dong
\nThe problems reclamation
\nOur wetlands are being savaged
\nThe climates changing
\nAnd it all feels wrong<\/p>\n
We are the only wading birds
\nWho still eat with a spoon
\nIn the Fu Cheng estuary
\nAnd the Zhanjiang Mangroves
\nBut soon <\/p>\n
Even there we are suffering
\nDisturbances affect
\nPollution it is everywhere
\nThough it is hard to detect<\/p>\n
Its not until we get down
\nOn the wetlands then we see
\nThe filth snd all the plastic waste
\nJust where it shouldnt be<\/p>\n
Hunting is a problem
\nOver Bangladesh and Myanmar
\nPeople taking pot shots at us
\nNo matter where we are<\/p>\n
With the habitat getting less and less
\nIts almost as if you say
\nYou do not want us on this earth
\nAnd its best we go away<\/p>\n
We know the BBC is doing something
\nCollecting eggs I think in Moscow Zoo
\nAlso out at Slimbridge thats in Gloucestershire
\nBut It feels like a last ditch effort
\nNow from you<\/p>\n
In 2009 there were maybe just 200 pairs
\nAnd now no more than 100 maybe less
\nWe all know we are suffering
\nThis abusive lost of habitat
\nAnd its causing so much truly dramatic stress<\/p>\n
We really are a charismatic species
\nCritically endangered as your know
\nHabitat loss is terrible when flying such long distances
\nTo wintering grounds to have no where to go<\/p>\n
When we are so exhausted from the journey
\nIt really is a bummer to believe
\nIf you can stop the hunting now in Bangladesh
\nThat alone will probably achieve<\/p>\n
Some help and the rest is down to habitat
\nAnd why are you lot such a filthy mob
\nWhy do you throw plastic all around the place
\nTruly we ingest it and you rob<\/p>\n
The wild ones of the pristine flats so beautiful
\nAnd many species clearly do devour
\nLittle bits of plastic and its killing them
