SPring’s clarion call of goldenness
\nThe daffodil who has been
\nUnderneath the winter snow and frost
\nWhere in that lean
\nicy under foot place
\nIt has swollen and has shown
\nIts green tips to the waiting skies
\nYes Mother Nature has grown<\/p>\n
Dormant through the Autumn
\nThrough Winter too it slept
\nAnd as the sun broke through the clouds
\nIt showed us how adept
\nIt is to springing into life
\nAnd upwards forced its green into
\nThe open air
\nClearly aware
\nAt knocking back the dew<\/p>\n
Peering over bare ground
\nAt the Cherry and the Beech
\nAt the Rosemary still clad in evergreen
\nAnd it did reach
\nUpwards and its golden trumpets
\nMusic to our ears
\nThe miniature ones
\nDaughters and sons
\nEmerged again to tears<\/p>\n
Spring has sprung the rows of random blooms
\nAre everywhere
\nA golden blush of colour
\nIt makes one so aware
\nThat Ostera soon will beckon
\nAnd Beltaine then with May
\nThe Summer and then Autumn
\nAs the new year storms away<\/p>\n
The seasons come the season go
\nLife moves at such a pace
\nThe daffodil it always will
\nPut a big smile on my face
\nThe crocus and the snowdrops
\nAnd the Hyacinth’s sweet nosegay
\nAnd of course another reminder
