We can still see the workings
\nThe circles of stone
\nThe barrows and ditches
\nYes it was known
\nBy the druids and mystics
\nAnd magickal souls
\nWho lived out their lives
\nAnd took on their roles<\/p>\n
When we visit Avebury
\nThe enchantment we feel
\nTimelessness values
\nIt does reveal
\nA science of constancy
\nCharged with their zeal
\nEthereal forces
\nYes the real deal<\/p>\n

\nThe Bell Beaker People
\nBrought this new lore
\nAssisted the farmers
\nIn working the stone
\nIn positioning them
\nThen it was known<\/p>\n
The meaning the magick
\nThe great interaction
\nErosion the weathering nature
\nCompaction
\nReaction and action
\nIt stood them in good stead
\nThe feminine spirit
\nClearly it led<\/p>\n
Lost realms still signify
\nSentinels last
\nRituals and sacredness
\nClearly they cast
\nRevelatory theatre
\nThe open air
\nSuch revelations
\nWere just everywhere<\/p>\n
AVebury and Stonehenge
\nWitnessed it all
\nThe mark every prophecy
\nEpiphany’s call
\nOn the wind inspiration
\nDevout their intent
\nA sky full of blue
\nFor them heaven sent<\/p>\n
And these great stones
\nAnd barrows and ditches and hills
\nArose from the sod
\nAnd countered the spills
\nClearly the psychics and mystics
\nGave thought
\nFor the earth was alive
\nFertile and caught<\/p>\n
Their water was pristine
\nAs was their air
\nTheir bodies were treated
\nTo all that was there
\nAnd we now bear witness
\nTo what they all knew
\nBut with all our advances
\nWe have lost it too<\/p>\n
Many have turned to dust
\nAnd blown away
\nDolmens and barrows
\nThough still they display
\nGreat ingenuity
\nBeauty beyond
\nImagination such spirit they donned<\/p>\n
That we can still walk
\nOn the sacredness where
\nThe beaker and stone age
\nTook umbrage to share
\nTheir knowledge together
\nTheir skillful refrain
\nThe circles where wisdom
\nSo many could gain<\/p>\n
Great solace derived from whatever
\nRefrain
\nWhatever hardship
\nThey felt they could gain
\nGreat energy from them
\nAs we all now know
\nWho practice our rituals
\nAnd feel that we grow<\/p>\n
Wiser and happier
\nYearning to be
\nBack with our ancestors
\nWho clearly walked free
\nWith the gait of the freshness
\nThe natural glow
\nOf the sky up above
\nAnd the sod down below<\/p>\n
