The Cassia ROad outside the mushroom farm
\nAnd what we found
\nWas a mother and her baby
\nLying on the ground
\nBoth were badly injured
\nThe baby gravely so
\nThe mother was lying on the bank
\nWhere the thick lantana grow<\/p>\n
This is a busy interchange
\nAnd its heavy traffic there
\nClearly her baby was in the road
\nAnd the mother so aware
\nShe had to try to save it
\nThough in shock and awe she be
\nThreading through the traffic
\nAnd ber baby she could see<\/p>\n
Clearly the mite was dying
\nAnd she had been hit too
\nSuffering such agony
\nAnd was weakened Through and through
\nBloodied up and broken
\nClearly in harms way
\nBoth were in a sorry state
\nBoth had been made to pay<\/p>\n
Drivers look at wild ones
\nAs a menace sometimes they
\nDont feel the angst the mother feels
\nIts galling in a way
\nThey just should not be on the road
\nBut then monkeys have always been
\nWild there it is woeful
\nTo observe this awful scene<\/p>\n
We caught up with the mother
\nHad placed her baby near
\nShe clutched at it in earnest
\nAnd held her baby dear
\nCuddling it and carressing it
\nOur Heartstrings tightened as we
\nFelt that anguish and disquiet
\nErupt depressingly<\/p>\n
They both had become victims
\nTheir agony we shared
\nCrossing the road was impossible
\nBoth were clearly scared
\nThe traffic there so heavy
\nAn Awful way to go
\nSo Unbearable to realise
